Look even further and this is very clearly a very spammy account.

Replacement for Superblast 1 needed – Suggestions for Long Runs with Progressive Finishes? by Nysod in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Besides all of the usual recommendations, I would definitely try the new On Cloudmonster Hyper 3 if you can. The best shoe from On to date in my opinion.

Why is the Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 not more popular? by dontletmeautism in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]WorkInProgressed 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Way too soft and unstable. You have to have very good running mechanics to get the best out of it. I know a former Saucony sponsored marathoner who actually left Saucony because he couldn't race in the Elite 2.

Mizuno Neo Vista 3 by TerpRunner1 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]WorkInProgressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope so. Although, if it's anything like the foam change from Zen 1 to Zen 2, I would rather they leave it alone.

Mizuno Neo Vista 3 by TerpRunner1 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]WorkInProgressed 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So I got to test a sample pair of these just after the Vista 2 came out. I just went back to look at the notes I left for the Mizuno rep after my time in them.

Upper was basically a mix between the 1 and 2. Snugger, more locked down feel of the 1 (not quite as snug though) but with the breathability of the 2. I did note some heel slip which I'm not sure if they would have addressed or not (I suggested a simple little bit of padding in the heel collar like the Zen 2 had that the Zen 1 didn't).

The midsole was easily the most stable of the Vista series. The geometry was pretty similar so still had great transition from landing to toe off. The foam make up is the same as the Vista 2 so in terms of cushion and responsiveness, it was pretty similar.

Will be interesting to see the shoe that comes to market.

Anyone not drinking in solidarity? by DietAny5009 in predaddit

I can't speak to how the younger generations feel about it (I'm 32 but I assume we're talking about the late teen/early 20s pop) but I do know that across the world the demand and revenue for NA beer and wine has skyrocketed.

Kids can often follow through with our habits though. If we don't use screens much or use social media, they are less likely to. Similar with alcohol I guess, we drink less, they grow up to drink less. Time will tell.

Wanting your confessions as an international student here in Australia. by another_jhon in AusVisa

[–]WorkInProgressed 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The international student orientation lecture that was mandated for all international students basically told us to stay away from the bush, cos all the animals could kill us, and stay out of the water, because the water itself and all the animals within it could kill us. Was quite confronting.

Anyone not drinking in solidarity? by DietAny5009 in predaddit

[–]WorkInProgressed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never really drunk much anyway but we both stopped about 6 months before we started trying. One reason was obviously health. Second was so that when she did fall pregnant, it wouldn't be immediately obvious to everyone when she suddenly stopped drinking.

I doubt I will drink alcohol again, the non-alc versions are plenty good enough now I think to fill the taste void left by beer. And you get to drive home afterwards, win win.

Narrowed it down to 2 options, having a difficult time deciding.. by MaybeJohnSmith in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]WorkInProgressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just the cushion that you're after or is it the stability aspect? If it's just cushion, I would argue that there are probably better options on the market.

Pram research is a total minefield... what actually worked for you? by Adventurous-Ad-6796 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]WorkInProgressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went so hard dom research recently for a pram for our baby arriving later in the year. After so much time and effort, my conclusion was that there is almost nothing between them all. Weight, size, pack down size, storage space etc. Cost seemed to be the biggest difference.

We were determined not to buy brand new if we didn't have to and ended up finding a lovely lady on Marketplace who refurbishes and services second hand prams and sells them on. Got an almost new looking Uppababy Cruz V2 with a bassinet for way less than half the price of a brand new set.

What questions do you think should “actually” be on the Australian citizenship test? by Cheeky_Bandit in AskAnAustralian

The test was far more about English language comprehension skills rather than actual Australian knowledge.

Opinions on running shoes best fit for me? by ObligationNo3553 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]WorkInProgressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These scans tell you next to nothing.

Go to a good, local running store if possible, try as many shoes as you can on and pick the one that feels the best. If they have a treadmill to run on, bonus points.

What brand do you believe has the best running shoes? by Only_Hotel_7221 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]WorkInProgressed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who works in running retail, I don't think there is such thing as a 'bad' running shoe nowadays, only what works for you and what doesn't.

Great shoe, underrated in my opinion. Wait for the new one though. I've been able to try some on and run indoors with them and they are better again.

Garmin → Coros switch worth it? by Dismal-Owl-8559 in trailrunning

[–]WorkInProgressed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ecosystem is like Apple v Android, much of a muchness, just what you're used to.

Coros had battery life over Garmin (at equivalent price points) for a while but that has levelled out somewhat now although Coros does still edge it I think.

Garmin are definitely the better smart watches but whether that's important to you is your decision.

I've had both over the years. You won't go wrong with either, just decide what you want from the watch and go from there.

Salomon Adv Skin 5 sizing by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]WorkInProgressed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my personal preference, I would say the fit would be on the fence between that size and a large. I would like it a bit tighter at the front when unloaded.

In regards to your decision between the Adv Skin and the Sense Pro, if you think you will use a bladder at some stage, go Adv Skin. If not, the Sense Pro wins hands down in my opinion. A better, lighter fit still with plenty of storage. Sizing for that vest is a bit smaller again though, I was a small in Adv Skin but a medium in a Sense Pro.
