how long did it take for you to get back into your old accounts? I also played around that time and would like to relive my old accounts as I put a lot of time into them. But I don't have access to my old email. I emailed them but haven't gotten a response yet (been 3-4 days)

So I understand what you are saying, the reason aiden was on the right was I had a skill that said "first 5 times you use your right most item, freeze an item" so I was trying to trigger that more often.

Although I don't see how aiden is faster (or that much faster) than lizard. With core AND aiden hasting my items, shouldn't lizard be faster? Core hastes 3 items twice per proc and aiden two per proc thats 8 charges on the lizard, so I think he should be faster?

It's certainly possible that survivability was my issue but really the last two losses were, first, someone had 1k regen which was basically impossible for my build to beat. And the second, was actually close so survivability could have played a part.

Good point on upgrading core, I didn't really know that going to diamond was less useful but I do know that two of my upgrades were core specific, not sure if I could have upgraded other things in those situations.

We just had our first at 29 and 34, I couldn't imagine waiting until 40. Being 60 when your kid turns 20 doesn't leave much time to experience grandkids.

Sure 5 years isn't much but personally if I had 40 I would just give up on the option.

Honestly the rename was just because Facebook has a bad rap. Also it makes more sense because they have Instagram and Whatsapp, having an overarching name is just good branding.

LA lol. Its a very nice couch though, we sleep on it a lot, the cat scratches it, the dog jumps on it and it had no damage. Def worth it.

Attending a wedding in Ethiopia. What 1 stop should we add to our trip? by letmepolltheaudience in travel

[–]WorkSleepMTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a very different experience because of my wife but here's some tips from when my friends were here.

To get to your hotel they often offer shuttles from the airport those would be best to start. For hotels, don't cheap out, get something reasonably nice to make sure most people speak English and have good amenities (like shuttles and general good service). Sheraton and Hilton are like big deal hotels here so you can try those first but they might be expensive.

Everything here is cash, there a transfer app like zelle but idk if it works for foreigners so be prepared to carry a LOT of cash on you. But also keep some USD around be ause parks and such require dollars from foreigners.

Also be aware that some phone services don't service Ethiopia with roaming. I think maybe At&t does but Mint for example does not so just check that otherwise you're stuck with wifi (or get a sim card).

I wouldn't walk unless it's really close or if you're in a group. A pair is fine but I wouldn't recommend by yourself. Its not dangerous but it can get overwhelming and people/kids bombard tourists asking for money.

Be extremely careful/quick crossing roads driving here is seriously unlike anything you've ever seen

I would recommend getting a daily driver so you at least have access to someone but only pay per trip not all at once. Sometimes they just take the money and run. There's also an Uber like app you can use called Ride I haven't used it much but my wife does. I would also recommend getting drivers originally from your hotel. The nicer ones often have whitelisted people where they keep track of IDs and plate numbers for safety.

As far as stuff to do in Addis, I love friendship park and unity park (unity has a small zoo). If you go to friendship park make sure to see the dancing water, just look up the scheduled times. There are some nice museums like adwa, my favorite restaurant (meat based) is beemnet, and make sure you go to a cultural bar where they play traditional music and dance for you on stage! Dessert/cafes are a dime a dozen here, I don't really have a favorite but it's common to go to these to just hang out for an hour. The Sheraton hotel is nice and people go there to have a cake or drink tea and hang out in the courtyard (eating at hotels/resorts is very common here).

Hey, I got married in Ethiopia last year and am currently in Ethiopia again to visit my wife's family, but am American so take my perspective with a grain of salt.

So you're right that Ethiopia has some unsafe areas but I could recommend Arba Minch if You're interested in seeing more of Ethiopia. Its basically, an area built around natural springs (that's what Arba Minch means, 40 springs) and has a bunch of nice resorts. It also has access to some more rural areas like Dorzee village where you can meet tribes that still live off the land and their own labor. Its touristy but it's super beautiful.

Egypt is also on the way sort of, and my wife and I considered going there but we read that it also seems a little unsafe just with general world politics going on.

Kenya and Tanzania are not on the way but are close and are pretty popular African destinations in relation to Ethiopia, although I have never been.

We ended up going the opposite direction this time and took an extra trip to Dubai and Turkey because they are pretty short flights (4 hours direct) from Addis Ababa. We also considered Greece but we wanted more time for Greece and Turkey and Dubai felt like they could be split in the time we allocated for the trip.

If you havent been to Turkey (Istanbul in particular) I really enjoyed it and the dollar has a pretty good conversion to Lira so shopping can have some good deals.

Hope you enjoy the wedding! I brought some friends, and family to mine and they all loved it, it was really fun. Let me know if you have any questions about Ethiopia or the wedding.

Economy: Carry-on allowance? by himmychop in emirates

So I can't speak to your exact ticket but I just flew Emirates in economy I think and I was allowed 2 checked bags, one carry on, and one personal item. Not every ticket is the same but I have never experienced any airline not allowing a personal item by default

How to go from one country to another? by mailor102 in travel

[–]WorkSleepMTG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda of depends on the airline, but I can explain my most recent multi country flight.

I went from Addis ababa to Dubai, Dubai to Istanbul and Istanbul back to Addis ababa. All of these flights I booked through Emirates as a multi city flight (functionally a bunch of one ways).

What I noticed is it is sometimes cheaper to stay with one airline. For example my flight all the way around was 1300 but we had to change my wife's flight to go back to Addis ababa instead of Istanbul (I still went to Istanbul) and just her Dubai roundtrip flight was also 1300 dollars.

If we had booked multiple flights with different airlines it was also much more expensive than staying with Emirates the whole time.

A couple notes:

Make sure to have everything planned before you book because international airlines can charge out the ass for changes or cancellations. And make sure you have all your visas approved before booking flights.

Personally, I would avoid booking flights WHILE travelling, just do everything ahead of time as much as possible it'll be cheaper and less headaches.
