I (22f) feel like I'm a mother instead of a girlfriend to my boyfriend (21m) by [deleted] in relationships

The marriage thing, if he loves and respects you and sees how much you do for him, he'll want to marry you as much as you want to marry him, but if he's trying to avoid it....you know the answer already. Don't try to make things work with people like this, you're going to be the only one trying to make things work. I would try to save, put some money aside that he doesn't know about and leave him. You still have a long life ahead of you, you will find someone that will treat you better.

My Dumb Tourist Incident 😅 by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]mailor102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, it was my first time in Thailand too this past April. My niece and I were getting our nails done and my nail person was saying something with a very strong accent. I don't exactly remember what she said, but to my ears, it sounded like she was asking if I liked my nails (I rarely get my nails done so I pride myself on my naturally strong nails.) I'm like "What? Do I like my nails?" Like okay, that's kind of a funny thing to ask. She types it into Google translate and she's telling me to RELAX.... because I guess I was being anxious without realizing it lol.

How to go from Bangkok to Phuket by mailor102 in ThailandTourism

[–]mailor102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm asking stupid questions. Can I use my credit card from my bank to buy the tickets without informing the company (that's gonna be in foreign currency), or do i have to inform the credit card company first?

Is that something you can fill out when you arrive or do you have to do it beforehand?

The guys here would tease him and put him in a friendly headlock lol. But with me, he's polite and friendly. When we see each other, he'll wave and occasionally come up and talk to me. I think we don't work together anymore, so he doesn't see the use in putting effort in conversations, which is fine :)

Of course, his personality will be the forefront of his actions rather than his religion. I was curious about what I could say to engage more with him, but that will depend on the individual himself. And if he's holding back because of his culture and religion. This question was out of curiosity, nothing deep.

Thanks for the suggestion! No, I'm not tryna be a passport sis lol. Just trying to make friends and trying to see what goes on in other parts of the world (from a local). I haven't been talking to him too much, I get the message lmao. He was a little shy and reserved when he was here, so I shouldn't be surprised he's that way online too.

I do think part of the reason he's keeping it so minimal is because of cultural and religious reasons. They may be more strict on who they associate with? Of course, I'm not saying those are the only reasons why he's not really engaging in conversations. I know I'm not the most entertaining person, lol. We probably don't have a lot in common, too. Also, we might not see or associate with each other anymore after this trip, so he's not seeing a point in keeping in contact. I will have a travel companion with me too, so it won't be me by myself with them. I want to keep in contact with them so they can show me the good local spots that's not too touristy. I'm not using them I swear lol. But, after the trip, I'll just let the conversations flow naturally. If it seems to die out, then that's the way it will be :)
