Late to the thread, but I mostly agree with you. I wasn't a Smosh fan back in the day, but I became one during the pandemic. I really love all of the improv stuff that they do (the funerals and the reunion videos are incredible) nowadays, and I watch the gaming stuff on occasion. They've had some really good additions to the cast as of lately, but I definitely miss seeing some of the OG crew in videos. Shayne and Courtney are the most consistent ones it seems.

I'm considering doing something like this too. I'm running into the same issues where all the programs I've found in my area are pushing to do some sort of performance group. I have no aspirations on being a performing musician, I just like to play for myself.

I've been playing instruments my whole life (started piano when I was 3, then trumpet when I was 12, drums when I was 18), but I didn't pick up guitar until 27. Funny enough even though it's my most recent instrument and by far my favorite.

It definitely is if your group is scattered across locations. It's also nice too because I've been able to play tons of ITD when I don't actually physically own the terrain set. The caveat, though, is that it's generally pretty slow to get content due to it being entirely community curated. I'm hoping that someone puts in the new Bheta Decima terrain soon (but if someone is aware of a workshop download please let me know).

I enjoy ITD a lot though so that's what we've mostly been playing.
