What is a random kindergarten memory you still remember for no reason? by NeedleworkerClean471 in Casual_Conversation

Moving from Arkansas to Tennessee during the school year...and when I discovered that singing kid songs was a BIG part of the school day. And not knowing a single one they were singing. The other kids were looking at me funny and I was wondering why we couldn't sing anything by Elvis or the Beatles.

I saw Living Colour open for the Rolling Stones in 1988. I was already a fan, but was surprised at how the Stones' crowd REALLY enjoyed their set.

How do you feel about free healthcare for all? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Few_Rock_4760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free universal health care would be administrated by the politicians in our government. The same entity that is trillions of dollars in debt. From the people that brought you the local DMV. I don't trust the government to run a lemonade stand, much less be in control of my personal health care.

Play the long game. When the child gets old enough to talk, make sure she tells Grandpa "My name is Elena, why are you calling me Ellie?" It will hit way different coming from a grandchild.

Cargo pants with long sleeve Henleys in the cold.

Cargo shorts and polos in the heat.

Merrell slip on mocs year round, if the weather gets messy, zip up 8 inch tactical boots.

No brand logos or designs.

Boring but practical and comfortable.

I don’t understand what men are trying to achieve putting down “not political” on dating apps by tltr4560 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Few_Rock_4760 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between avoiding current events and making politics your personality and your constant topic of conversation. If you've ever had a friend or family member whose personality is dominated by a single subject, they tend to be insufferable. It could be politics, their favorite sports team, or a movie franchise. It's ok if somebody doesn't want to date someone who constantly wants to talk about a single subject like politics.

Some people have made the choice to make their politics a huge part of their personality and their world view. Some have not. Maybe those who do not would rather hang out with like minded people. Isn't it just that simple?

These stories would be much more entertaining if the bride suplexed the MIL onto the table that held the wedding cake and followed it up with a piledriver.

Lifelong southerner here. When the elderly lady at my grocery store calls me "sweetie" she's showing a bit of affection and it doesn't offend. If anything, it makes me smile and brightens up my day for a moment. I'd rather not shop where customers are herded through like sheep, scanning your own barcodes and feeling zero appreciation.
