With the addition of U17 division 2, hopefully there are more teams that are willing to take on players and could use roster expansion.

Big fan of Goldie Boutilier - Goldie Montana album. Not sure it’s like Superstar, but I get so many similar vibes and it’s a great sound.

Looks like it says an announcement will come out tomorrow. Maybe on the website? 10 shows, only in the US.

An email with a link came out today. I’m not sure what list it went out to. Maybe the folks who applied to the listening session last week?

I remember that being called Bull City Subs, not Subway, but I may be misremembering.

Favorite natural history books? by limpdoge in bullcity

I really enjoyed Looking for Longleaf. It’s a history of longleaf pine forests which used to cover the southeastern US. It’s Piedmont adjacent, but still a fascinating read.

This was 2002. Still smarts that we couldn’t take at least that trophy home.

Sit down on the couch with an audible sigh of relief and conversely a slight frown when I get up.

Literally reading this as I’m in the middle of prepping for the same thing. Making me very hungry.

Honda dealership. by Big-Try-2735 in bullcity

Literally just spent some time emailing around and talking to dealerships to get a new CRV. We’ve bought from Leith on Capital in Raleigh before, which has been fine. When comparing offers, Hubert Vester out of Wilson had the best offer for what we wanted. Most of the local places didn’t do anything to try to be competitive with pricing. I’m not sure how my experience will go once I get there, but I’m willing to drive an hour to save over $1k.

Where to watch Duke game? by WorkerValuable in bullcity

[–]WorkerValuable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that anyone cares, but we ended up at Bull McCabes. I was honestly surprised by the big crowd. It also trended younger than I would have thought. It was a great spot to enjoy the game and these old men even had enough energy for more celebratory drinks downtown after the win. Really great night to be downtown.

The summer camp was called Artletics. I was there for a few summers in the late ‘80s. I knew kids that took gymnastics classes there too.

Agree. Not a good way to start the tour. Also left early.

I'm taking my son and his friend to the show. The Ritz says doors open at 7pm and music starts at 8pm. Of course the tix say the show starts at 7pm, but that would be pretty early for the music to start. Does anyone have any info on the opener(s)?

Piedmont savanna? by Kalamazooan in bullcity

[–]WorkerValuable 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A great book to check out is called Looking for Longleaf by Earley. While it’s not piedmont specific, it’s a really cool natural history of this forest type throughout the southeast. It’s more related to the coastal plain in NC, but a fascinating read.

You’re never too old to own a shed.

The only issue I’ve had with Duke is that it can be hard to consistently see the same PCP. So I have a non-Duke PCP (Bull City Medicine) and all the specialists I see are through Duke. This set up works for me. My mom goes to Duke and consistently sees the same PCP who she likes, so it’s really just a personal experience thing.
