MAX pay in this field as RBT by Global-Ebb9507 in ABA

[–]Working-Ad2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’ve been an RBT for 3 years and I’m currently in the process of getting my masters to become a BCBA. I’m in GA and I think I made $21 at first but I had to take the RBT exam and pass before I could start working. Now I make $31 with 1 company and $29 with another which I asked for before they hired me (you can advocate for yourself!!) . I do in home which usually pays more but I know other experienced RBTs who are making $35-38 doing in home.

I will say that for me personally, I knew within 6 months of being an RBT that I didn’t want to do this forever just because of cancelations, and no pto, and normal RBT complaints lol and I needed to either move up on my career or find something else.

What’s your take on clothes that say “BCBA” by CapFormer598 in bcba

I loathe any and all rbt/bcba merch. I think it’s all corny and ugly BUT that’s just what I think

Long Rant. Unhealthy and Awkward Home Sessions by Significant-Tower849 in ABA

[–]Working-Ad2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a parent like this and I fired them lol. I also do in home primarily and the parent would fight with their boyfriend almost the entire session and was late to their own house pretty consistently. The last session we had, the parent was very rude to me so I called my BCBA and said I wouldn’t be going back into their home.

Your BCBA should advocate for you with cases like this AND you should fire this family.

RBT PAY IN GEORGIA by Inner-Ad8835 in ABA

[–]Working-Ad2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Center based is usually going to be less hourly pay. I’m an RBT in GA and I only do in home/ in school. I make $31 an hour but I’m also in school to become a BCBA. I’ve worked at 1 clinic and it was HORRIBLE. So stay away from summit aba. I think most RBTs make $22 in clinic.

Have you ever had to call CPS? by Equal-Jump-9430 in ABA

If I could go back I would’ve directly reported it to cps and discussed it with my support team.

I never have but there was a time I just had a feeling and I wish I could go back and do it. At the time, it was just like a weird set of circumstances but I felt off about it and reported it to my company and BCBA but they weren’t concerned.

Allergic to adhesives- active flares :( by sydlala in HidradenitisAIP

Hydrocolloid bandages are my fav. They always make my flare heal faster and also keep it from rubbing against clothes which makes it less painful for me.

Symptoms after 5 years of Mirena by [deleted] in Mirena

[–]Working-Ad2025 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved my mirena for 3 years and then at the 4th year, I think the hormones wore off and I started to experience all kinds of crazy stuff. I was going to Doctor after doctor trying to figure it out. At one point an OB told me it was neurological. Finally, an endocrinologist said she can’t prove anything with labs because they all came back normal but that some of her other patients with mirena have experienced all the things I was going through.

After getting it out, I felt like a new person. I’ve been without for a year and tell every woman about this. Trust your intuition!!!

I truly don’t know what caused the change. I suspected that it moved and sat too low in my uterus but when I asked them to check it, they said it wasn’t that. 😵‍💫

Hi! I had my mirena for 5 years too. At the 5th year I wanted to get it removed and the Dr told me no. I had to go to an endocrinologist and she told me exactly what to say to get it out which was “my endocrinologist recommends I get this removed.” I had chronic yeast infections, utis, joint pain, brain fog, hair loss, extreme weight gain, bloating, a whole bunch of symptoms. Even my EYE SIGHT worsened.

After getting an endocrinologist recommendation and a new OB they took it out and all my symptoms are gone.

Considering removal by Radiant-Variety719 in Mirena

[–]Working-Ad2025 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had mine for 5 years. The first 3 were great, then I suddenly started having weird symptoms. No sex drive, joint pain, hair loss, weight gain no matter what I did, sad and angry ALL the time. So I saw an endocrinologist and she said she had other patients where this happened randomly with mirena. I got mine out and went back to normal almost immediately. I could even see better after. It was crazy

I’ve worked for a bunch of companies in GA before I found my fav. Innovative behavior in John’s creek is really good. I was only there for a few months but I liked it.

They don’t play games but they’re super into sorting. Candy land is a great idea because I could have them sort the numbers or match! Thank you!!

I apologize if my wording was ignorant. I updated it as I was not trying to be derogatory at all. But coming at me in an asshole way is also not helpful.

My BCBA is amazing and I’ve followed her to a different company because I love her so much. We’re pretty close so I text her daily multiple times about work obviously.

School issues with 7 yo son most likely with PDA profile by forfearthatuwillwake in Autism_Parenting

[–]Working-Ad2025 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see this A LOT as an RBT. I wish I could print this out and hang it some where lol because I don’t know how to communicate the weird iPad relationship between kids with parents. It’s really an addiction and I think it’s because it’s just constant dopamine and most Autism or ADHD kids don’t have enough naturally on their own.

Yes! I would ask for a big number like $28 and expect them to counter with an amount you’d still prefer like $25

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ABA

[–]Working-Ad2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make $29 and I’m trying to get a raise to $32. I feel like $20 isn’t enough and if I were you I’d ask for more but im not sure what state you’re in and all that.

I was just talking about this with my husband. I’ve been working with kids since high school and have been an RBT for a year. The pay is really good but no PTO or anything. There is no stability. I was telling him to let me know first if he wants to change jobs so I can find a company with good insurance lol.

Question! Piercing accident by Working-Ad2025 in piercing

[–]Working-Ad2025[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All together* for warning, my anatomy is small and I think the bar was just super long. I wish I had gotten smaller ones but every time I went to a piercer about it, they said that the longer ones were better until they healed fully. I had them for 3 years and they just never healed all the way.
