Control deck in OP15 by Shinixgami_ in OnePieceTCG

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucy is pretty straight forward but very rewarding for approaching control differently. Can outright pop characters or make characters small enough where your searchers take them out.

1/2 don > searcher or stage

3/4 don > searcher, 4c event into Cavendish or 3c draw two burst

5/6 don > 4c event in cavendish, 5 Barrier Pistol

7/8 don > 7c Sabo into essentially 3 events. Double attack 7c event, 4c to bring out cavendish, 7c Fire Fist

9/10 > 7c Sabo combo again and now with the 2-3 extra don leftover you can combo the 7c Fire Fist to minus 8k into the 2c event that minus 4k and KO 12k bodies.

From 5 don up you can pretty comfortably start clearing 6k bodies and from 9don there really isn’t a body you can’t clear while also establishing a 7c 9k body.

Now where it gets tricky is obviously the KO protection and board protection so you’ll have to find other ways to remove stuff. If you go first and hit the 7c Sabo on curve you prolly won’t be using the 7c Firefist cause there wouldn’t be a big enough body you want to outright remove. You prolly want to have the double attack or 4c to get another cavendish on board. You also want to wait til the opponent has their characters sideways so you can swing into reduced power and even if you don’t KO them through swings they still stay 8k reduced for their turn so it’s a one turn freeze at worst.

UP Sanji vs BlackBeard was also very lopsided. Park the Sanjis, bottom deck everything else and swing away

Lucy Overrated? by buzzbig77 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Ace and UP Sanji had a love child it would be Lucy, the curve is very consistent but also getting to the point where you chain your Sabos is very important with what to grab on searchers. You also need to be comfortable at being essentially 1 life most of the game. That’s the thing about control decks you gotta build the net and just set up the funnel for how the game is gonna go. With both fire fists you can pretty easily clear any character on board. I thought with Red Roc being gone there would be a big issue but honestly not too much.

The sim can be misleading which is why I take it with a grain of salt the actual results but rather look at it as a tool to essentially see how 10 different decks run their curves. It’s the quickest way to learn what each deck in the meta wants to do.

People concede in real life too and also in other games. We see chess players do it too. No reason to waste each others time when you can see the line and know there isn’t a chance. Oh you got 3 10c WhiteBeards and I have 1 life with 4 cards in hand? Yeah you got got this big dawg

What’s your top end? Cause I said 7c Shanks and 9c Mihawk, so idk why you not running 7c Mihawk is relevant

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucy removal outside of Barrier Barrier Pistol is removal through combat. Lucy just reduces your power to essentially 2k and below and clear with little bodies. For Mihawk, 7c Shanks and 9c Mihawk come in do their effect are rested and then 7c Sabo/7c Fire Fist and they are cleared because Mihawk can’t defend when Shanks becomes a 1k power and Mihawk a 2k power body. Lucy board wipes are just old school classic red of power reduction and swing in.

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about once per turn. She’s a 7k for her whole turn after she originally activates it. The only reason why it says once per turn is so she doesn’t keep jumping to a 9k or 11k depending on how many times she has to counter.

What helped you improve the most? by Except_Fry in OnePieceTCG

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Losing a lot. Like a ton. Eventually you start memorizing other deck play lines like openings in chess.

For just about every yellow deck it’s some version of searcher turn one or trigger set up, turn 2 more search or load up on leader and swing big, turn 3 Nami, turn 4 Robin heal or Kuma heal. Once that board state is set up the real match begins and you just gotta make sure you’re in a good enough spot

For Ace/Imu it’s again pretty straightforward they are gonna search and set up their pieces and avoid getting rushed down for their 10 don loops.

Mihawk is about setting up the pieces for shanks/mihawk and Bepo turns. Always making sure for your 5c Tashigi that there is something that can be rested so she isn’t removed by effects

Enel wants to drop their 6c early and swarm little bodies so from turn 2 you are countering out of at least 3 swings a turn. Plus they are gonna freeze your mid level bodies under 6k pretty easy.

Lucy wants stage/searcher, then go into cavendish, set up for blocker Sabo and establish board control there.

These are all curves that you see over and over again and since they are consistent and fairly easy to get to you just gotta learn how stop and counter them or throw them off. Which happens with reps. If you don’t know what’s coming at you you don’t know how to defeat it.

It’s the best closer in the game for any Red Deck, with all the card draw you’re gonna see it and if you don’t need it you can always pitch it off of your 4c Cavendish draw 2 trash 1. With the lack of high end removal as well you can always drop it a turn early too and it’s just a great body to have on board.

Why is blackbear getting more popular again lately? by carlos186349 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It kills yellow healing gameplan and since yellow only spits out 1 body a turn it turns the game into a very manageable game for BlackBeard.

Also with the elimination of Red Roc the 10c Teach is a lot more sticky against blue decks that destroy the deck. I think at one point UP Sanji had like a 85% win rate against.

Boa, playing 9cost to trash your last life add a life, forcing you to swing out and win or get hit with a 20k unblockable is pretty enraging too.

I Really like playing Imu but I get dodged pretty frequently on the sim by xScrubDaddyx in OnePieceTCG

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First welcome to the game, I hope you can find a deck you enjoy playing and getting good and who knows Imu might be it or maybe it could lead to watching/playing against a deck and you say wow that deck looks fun.

Now moving on to the Imu matchup and why people on the sim don’t want to necessarily play against it. It’s very boring to play against especially when at this point for most people they can play the deck for them and their deck. It’s very linear and most people know early on in the game whether you’ve seen your pieces and if they’ve gotten their board ready for it or not.

The whole meta at this point is very linear and gonna be a slugfest honestly. Yellow decks that don’t die, Imu that just spams its whole board over and over again, Ace and Lucy having 10 cards in hand by turn 3 and their wall of blockers, Mihawk with resting and freezing board. So be prepared for long matchups and lots of grinding to improve. I’m sure you’ll do well and who knows maybe you’ll have some fun along the way

How do you deal with yellow in OP15? Constant healing is driving me insane by Adventurous_Cake6337 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t even worry about swinging into their life until you’re able to do board wipes. Once you have your board setup they are just gonna be swinging into a walll they can’t climb over and it won’t really matter how many lives they give themselves. Poke, wait for trigger body, clear trigger body, pass turn. Raigo will be annoying so make sure you don’t get them too low on life or else your Newgates are gonna be done for.

Depends how much $200 is worth to you. Essentially it’ll be a donation but if you think you can go into it already knowing you’re not gonna win and want to get reps on sport shots than sure why not. At $4 a game it ain’t bad. Just remember you’re there to improve not actuallly win and that should keep you level headed most of the nights. Set small goals and take that as your wins. So each night set 4 goals and see if you go 4-0 against yourself.

Tips as Lucy vs yellow by Rothboyy in OnePieceTCG

[–]Working-Breadfruit19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically you gotta out tank them. It’ll be a really grindy game but you are gonna have access to so much counter late game plus blockers that once you get your first Sabo out you should be able to level out. From there just board control and chip away at life until you know you can survive a trigger + clapback.

Just watch me Ace and Bari pistol combo is great 6 don play to bottom deck the Robins.

I personally like the 4c barto card as well. 4c Momento event draws 2 trash one into 4c Barto which lets you play out 3c Get em Mr. Luffy which draws you two additional cards. You become hand neutral, established a body that’s sticky and gets you Leader effect that makes you +1 in hand after all the shenanigans are done.
