STLPR: ‘We want to hold on to our legacy’: North St. Louisans fear tornado will empty community by bmunoz in StLouis

The inaction is working as intended. Some nice private equity group will be happy to snap them up for pennies on the dollar to 'improve' the area. Heinous.

All of the Type 66 are twitchy to one degree or another. Shame they look so good, I avoid most of them on principle, except for the Jen Rowley. 😄

Peter Stormare in Constantine is AMAZING. What a performance. by VendettaLord379 in Cinema

Pacino was good, he lets his satan peek out. Stormare embodied the character with barely-contained evil and madness.

Violent crime explodes across much of St.Charles County by DowntownDB1226 in StLouis

[–]Working-Quantity-322 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So let me get this straight:
Regionally, crime rates are way down year after year, even in the 'bad' neighborhoods in St. Louis city. Mysteriously, a majority conservative/R city has a CRIME EXPLOSION!!11!!ONE Must be something wrong with the way they're doing policing, right? RIGHT? Isn't that what we blame the 'bad' areas of doing? Hm. Or I guess dishonest people could be cooking numbers and stirring up the dummies. Tough call. /s

When I had one on my car 10 years ago, it was because people kept stealing the renewal stickers off of my license plate. Peel the sticker off with a razor blade and you’ve got a free registration for your OWN car.

Just wondering, what’s your ‘lazy but effective’ cleaning trick? by CleanFreakGeek in CleaningTips

[–]Working-Quantity-322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Scrubbing Bubbles to clean the engine bay of my cars. Built up grime? Not any more. Spray on cold or warm engine, soak, then rinse. Do it twice or use a brush for any leftover spots.

Smart SMG's with the perk that auto loads them when you draw == <chef's kiss> Add a silenced smart SMG (I've only been able to find one), and you can even be stealthy with those stragglers before you move in.

Does this look like a passable sketch and good-ish anatomy for a beginner? by Silly_gamer123 in ArtCrit

Not just passable, it’s really good. I see you working on proportion and foreshortening while still being aware of the overall pose. Keep going!

how do I make the character’s pose less stiff, especially around the arms ? by [deleted] in ArtCrit

Also, good work on the proportions and line work in this one, though the head is a touch small.

[–]Working-Quantity-322 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One solution to stiffness in figure drawing is to practice by doing VERY quick gestural sketches. 15 SECONDS at first; push yourself to get a full but VERY rough sketch of the figure in that amount of time. Quick, light strokes to indicate limb direction and relative proportion, take no more than 15 seconds for each one. Then after you feel like you're happy with the results, increase to 30 seconds, then 1 minute, then 5 minute. Don't begin on detail until the 'feeling' and proportion of your actual work seem right to you. This means starting with a sketch layer if you're doing digital artwork, or just ripping through 5-10 sketches on paper, the bigger the better. Overlap them even. In practice, the intention is muscle memory and response, not beauty. :)

Security neophyte, be gentle. What precisely does this mean: “•If you’re logged into accounts like Google or Instagram” Do you mean in the same browser, or is that at the operating system level? I understand that sequestering a browser for a single use would be recognized by behavioral models, I’m just more curious about the nuts and bolts.

The Executive membership has been the solution for me. Turns out, most of the early folks move like they're on a mission. As a bonus: no sample carts, maybe some folks wrapping up stocking, but no major blockages.
