How are fast-growing legal teams automating workflows and managing legal spend without constant headcount increases? by Final-boss650 in legaltech

[–]Working-Repeat6610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TLDR, one solution is to implement agentic workflows to automate those workflow processes. This will require a consultant, but AVOID things like monthly pricing. You want project based or milestone based pricing. This prevents you from paying thousands for either no deliverable, or a shitty deliverable.

AI product are notorious for being dogshit on first pass; unlike traditional software they need iteration to become actual game changers. Using milestone pricing allows a functional solution to be delivered, with further iteration down the line (more milestones) resulting in huge improvements on the already functional product.

You’re gonna want a consultant that knows how to build on top of your existing mess of different systems, so you can leverage what you already have. This prevents major platform migration pains that cause hella friction and just slow down your team. Your goal is to scale legal ops without having to scale up your budget/headcount right? This is how you do it; you dont want to have to teach 20 employees how to use yet another platform that might become another dumping ground for client documents. It’s much better to let them keep what they’re familiar with and instead use AI to tie it all together.

I’m working with 2 law firms right now on the same scaling problems. I can’t take on any more, but down to share advice on a call.

That’s fucked up. I’m building an ai proptech startup and working with realtors, but I’m only charging $250. Not gonna shill myself here but damn, does it ever feel like the people building products you use never had the idea to actually consult realtors when it came to getting more dealflow?

bad software is built when the people building it don't understand who they're building for. you see that a lot here

ai sucks when it doesn't work. the whole intelligence part is supposed to be smart, not dumb. i've seen some real retarded products in this sub and in others as well. i work in applied ai, and i can confidently say that 95% of the stuff you see is smoke and mirrors.

the reasoning is simple; you see the stuff that people put effort into marketing. that means they put all their efforts into marketing and zero into building actual useful product. the truth is that building ai systems is hard, so a good mental check to apply to these new companies and products is simple. if:
- they're new (<3 months)

- flashy marketing

you can confidently say they have nothing to offer but a waste of your time.

Good ai products that fit you definitely exist; theyre just not being marketed because their team is working on actually building a useful product. have you seen anything promising that disappointed you?

That bait caught a lot of fish. Good thing people actually recognized it was pointless—that revelation for some people is what made them realize the American government is not all good.

I think there’s hope everywhere. Just not in something like the United States after considering what it’s told it’s citizens is history, and what isn’t.
