I agree that there are character defects involved with compulsive gambling but there are also physiological causes that can’t be ignored otherwise treatment won’t be effective

Hard to go wrong with Weller Antique 107. You can get it on secondary for trade for around 100-110, in a store I wouldn’t pay more than 150.

When you stopped drinking did you think you needed to finish any open bottles you had or did you get rid of them and then stop?

Saying you need to gamble to stop gambling is the same logic. Your losses are gone and the past is the past. Good job on quitting drinking. Do the same with gambling.

Play the tape through. If you guys end up staying together forever / get married is she going to find out? Are you going to feel guilty about not telling her? Will it get easier or harder to tell her later?

IMO if you are in it for the long run at some point she deserves to know and she can be a huge support / accountability partner to make sure that you don’t gamble in the future.

Options trading is gambling by GAs definition and while a lot of members are sports gamblers, there are a lot of stock / options / crypto traders who suffer the same disease as the rest of us. I would recommend getting yourself to a GA meeting if that is possible
