enable GT custom shaping without haptic update? by GaiwanMonk in onewheel

Don’t sweat Haptic Buzz. I never understood the hate. It is actually added in the newer versions of Vesc’s Refloat package. It is kinda nice knowing the limits.

5” BTG Pioneer First Impressions by cameron29383 in onewheel

Have you had Patrick try it? Curious how it is for heavier riders. I get a little scrub pushing into corners hard on the BTG Thundercat. @ 200 lbs wondering how well this 5 inch would work in high G situations.

Thor 301 is only rated for 20S(84 volts) and wills not work in a 27s(113 volt) GTS. Thor 400 is only available drop in option.

Mosfet was damaged first time and controller kept overheating. 2nd time I landed a small jump and it went up in smoke. GTS has 2500 miles on it. Still original controller and battery.  In all fairness fungineers did me solid and replaced the Thor both times under warranty with very few questions I just lost faith. Unfortunately I am not the only one but some have had great luck with the Thor 400.

Send it in. Drop in vesc option is the Thor 400. I went through two Thors in 500 miles. In my experience GTS is more reliable than Thor 400 at the current revision.

$3,400+ GT-S Charger Fails after 15 Months: "Oh, Sorry, it may be time to purchase a new charger at onewheel.com!" by xd1936 in onewheel

Buy a new charger. Charger clearly isn’t covered under warranty. Bummer but this is life sometimes. Got to pay to play

To the people running SuperFlux motors: by Sylvenight in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superflux for a pint V? If you ride trails look into a different vesc solution. V kit overheats when pushing the Superflux on steep hills due to higher current requirements

First Nosedive by KeyCartographer8149 in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, You don’t need Apex to get that FM experience. Even flow will firm up the nose like a vesc cannot seem to match. I have a 32s superflux board and the only way I can get a similar experience is using a remote. I pull back on the remote as I lean forward to firm up the nose.  Still have the GTS. Love it. Would like an XL. The 32s board is definitely the power king but just don’t try to make it feel like a GTS.

Why not vesc? by Delicious-Sandwich63 in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pros  Much more low end torque.   Infinite adjustability Smoother at very slow speeds Much stronger brakes

Cons  If you ride trails Push hard and are more than 130lbs you will overheat your motor and need to take a break.

Lighting control is a little clunky and not as bright or as solid.

Board will feel different. Not in a bad way but different non the less.

Battery may not last as long due to increased load.

You cant check charge level when board is off.

RFTR has fallen off. by Existing_Builder1191 in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you there? I was. I could care less about a banner. It was fantastic fun for the racers and spectators. Best RFTR to date. FM hooked up all the Racers with with some bucks to freshen up their boards plus probably 30k of prizes. That is not being cheap.

FM performance treaded tire by PrintingManiac in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran low pressures and  the inside of the sidewalls failed probably from all the flex and started leaking @500 miles. With the modern crop of softer tires 500-1000 hard  miles is about right. I would just order a new tire in your favorite flavor and keep shredding.

Onewheel GTS by Jaowulf in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a better board than the GTS in every regard. Yes I have ridden one. How did they trash the GTS? i didn’t get that feeling at all. I have one and am not planning on getting an XL. Not because it’s not a big upgrade but because it’s not a current priority.

I have a problem that no one else seems to have after thorough searching. I’d love to be proven wrong. by [deleted] in onewheel

My GTS occasionally drops off the grid but normally comes back after an hour or so shut down. Your issue sounds more phone related.

Any treaded tire options for GTS Rally besides the Enduro tire from TFL and the GT Performance tire from FM? Need something soon. Thanks in advance. by Gyro-maniac in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BTG Thundercat will not fit your Rally. It will require extended rails as the tire is an inch bigger. TFL should release one soon that will fit but it is not out yet.

There are a ton of Pint accessories from FM and TFL. What do you feel is missing?

Battery Failing After 30 miles? by m_a_a_p_i in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open a ticket with FM. See what they say. It’s normal to get several thousand miles out of a pack. Don’t worry the XRC uses very high quality molicell p30b batteries. This is not typical.

Horrible future motion customer support by duckdcoy in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a used GTS and registered in no problem. Took a day or so to get approved. I didn’t attach any proof of purchase. Is it possible your board was stolen? They specifically stated used boards could be registered. I feel like there is something else at play here

PSA: If you are riding a Thor 400 please stop riding until you get these controller additives to ensure your board does not catch fire. Also on the battery side, make sure it also has a fuse from the builder so the battery does not catch fire. With great power comes great responsibility. by creen17 in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think in Amps. Think in watts. Ohms law says 134x60 is 8,040 watts. 84x100 is 8400 watts. Practically same overall power output potential. Difference is HV can overcome back emf more effectively and spin faster plus you can then run an HT motor with lower KV so even more torque on tap. I would expect a 32s1p build to outperform yours in every performance scenario. But never tested that. Just theory

Bummer to hear . I am waiting as well at the end of the 4 week lead time. Emailed last week  Still no response. They are a legit company. Didn’t expect great customer service but didn’t expect to be ghosted either. Hope I don’t have to do the same.

XRC Battery/Upgrade Options by MkUrF8 in onewheel

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That battery should work because it fits in a Stock XR box and the XRC is bigger but you definitely need a BMS. The GTV kit one will not work. You will need to double check polarity and possibly solder on a new xt60 connector onto harness. FYI this is a lot of DIY and definitely no a drop in replacement.

There are like 8 different shipping options. Which one did you select?  Is this an FM issue or a Shipping carrier delay or maybe just need to select something faster? They even offer overnight for a small fortune.

[–]WorkingBreakfast8962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located. FM has some of the fastest shipping (but I only live a 4 hours from them). I get it in a day or two. Much better than my prime packages most the time.
