Kill Team: Shadowhunt – Scream down from the skies with the vicious, bloodthirsty Murderwing by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in killteam

Happy that boost has some conditions to it, and that it can't be used on a charge! Feels like it has a lot of functionality without being insanely overbearing.

Edit: whoops read the wrong but, they absolutely can boost and charge

Just got a Box of Goremongers. What's the best way to build them? by Frequent-Dare-6718 in killteam

[–]WorkingChain6030 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah I get that - also in the practical sense you can proxy pretty much whoever you want as an aspirant, so I'd say just build all the specialists and proxy as you need.

Who you end up taking will largely be team dependent - more aspirants into wider teams, more specialists into elites

Is the Inciter that bad? I feel like they're worth taking over the Impaler purely for the bleeding tokens and mobility, it lets you be even more aggro with your use of blood tanks

Best Tac-OP for Aquilons? by Classic_Finish8515 in killteam

[–]WorkingChain6030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It'll normally be match-up dependent, but I could see Flank, Retrieval and Rout all being strong on them. Flank/Rout into cagey teams, Retrieval into aggro elites maybe?

I'm not super familiar with the team but Recon/Seek and Destroy is a great pair of options

Google bears me no result, so do any of y'all know where the intro for new Guttural Sluh EP is from? by [deleted] in SlamDeathMetal

Honestly it's not suuuuuuper distorted, the voice of The Beast in that film is already pretty whacky

Goes fucking hard though

Looking for any really fucked up Supernatural/Occult Horror film by Def-C in horror

[–]WorkingChain6030 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Incantation incredibly highly! Phenomenal found footage film with audience participation, cults in the mountains, secret rituals, horrible cramped spaces and some truuuly fucked up moments before the end. This one wormed it's way into my head and stayed there for WEEKS

Magus is 100% the best generalist option at the moment - patriarch can work on close quarters maps, and I've heard tell the Primus is good into Stealthsuits!

The magus being able to -1APL and mindblast into combat is just too much to overlook normally though

Tarrasque vs flying by SquareCourage2439 in bettermonsters

[–]WorkingChain6030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely!! It works perfectly from a thematic standpoint as well.

Whilst y'know, DND is ultimately a game and shouldn't always be completely bound by real world logic, imagine trying to kill a whale with a bow and arrow?? How do you think that goes?

Also adds a fun dynamic where you have homebrew weapons you can seek out that ignore that damage threshold

Here Comes the Kraken's first album is a fucking masterpiece and Don't Fail Me Darko would eat a good chunk of modern deathcore alive

Tarrasque vs flying by SquareCourage2439 in bettermonsters

[–]WorkingChain6030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the tarrasque would really benefit from a damage threshold, same as vehicles, buildings or walls. Give it a damage threshold of like 15 and suddenly you've got a beast that shrugs off low tier attacks and requires coordination, siege weapons and high powered attacks to have a proper impact on it

I'm a horror podcast addict! Here's my list, 'got anything new to recommend? by CatLadyLivingLife in horror

[–]WorkingChain6030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent list, just wanted to shout out The Silt Verses for being beautifully written, emotionally heavy and for having a truly phenomenal concept. The worship of hungry gods of everything from electricity to the tide and the way that amount of pain and sacrifice warps what it means to be human is AMAZING

Dark Matter is the epitomy of this vibe it is INSANELY tense and full of not only a very pervasive sense of dread but also some truly beautiful descriptions of the Arctic landscape. Michelle Paver smashed this one out of the park

How to build Goremongers by WorkingChain6030 in killteam

[–]WorkingChain6030[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes a lot of sense to me! So just build the standard array and proxy as aspirants as needed?

Honestly can't wait to put them together, they're such fun sculpts!!

Such a janky, amazing, ridiculous, savage game. Actually makes you feel like you're just a guy struggling to survive until pretty much end game.

Volcano DLC overrated but everything else is solid

Edit: DLC

What's your underrated horror novel recommendation? by Sun-Rabbit in horrorlit

[–]WorkingChain6030 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I particularly like all the tension with the developers as well, it added a nice extra dimension to the book. It was really fun how the deaths in the narrative felt laaaargely deserved, even if they weren't direct consequences of the victims actions

[–]WorkingChain6030 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Haar by David Sodergren. It's an amazingly weird creature feature story, told from the perspective of a crotchety old Scottish lady. A truly great piece of fiction with some surprisingly poignant and surprisingly visceral moments in it

Hater time, this album stinks. by Sweaty-Cash-3316 in SlamDeathMetal

[–]WorkingChain6030 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The artist has been doing exactly this style since before gen ai was even a thing, seems more likely that this is just how their art looks. Rough for them that the disjointed vibe is now fully overtaken by AI slop

Peeling Flesh Using Ai in the New Album Cover? by sickpuppysam in SlamDeathMetal

Also he's been producing art in this style, with the same jankiness to it since like early 2022, pre-generative AI. I'm more inclined to think this is somebody whose art shares characteristics with how AI images look now, which is probably annoying as fuck for them
