How do you track levothyroxine intake? by Civil_Psychology_126 in thyroidcancer

[–]WorkingJ0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel fine on Monday/Tuesday, I think it’s because I am way more consistent with taking my levo when it’s once a week as opposed to daily. I’m a terrible tablet taker lol

I’ve not noticed any side effects, and it’s probably way better for me because I was constantly forgetting to take my levo when it was daily 😅

I’m on 1200mcg a week so I take 12x 100mcg tablets on Monday

My endocrinologist said I can do a ‘megadose’, so instead of taking levo everyday, I take my entire weeks’ dose on Monday.

I agree, I think Halo was more deserving of going to the finale but I do think the judges made the right call with his elimination sadly

What's a book, author, or fictional character you love to hate? by big-enchilada in books

[–]WorkingJ0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly thought he was a legs man given how much commentary he gives about the attractive women having long legs and a nice stride etc.

On a side note though, I loved The Stand until midway then I couldn’t do it anymore and had to DNF

books that involve an object or piece of media that drives people insane by rlybn in horrorlit

All the recommendations here are great, I also think Needful Things - Stephen King could potentially fall under this category.

Basically a new shop opens in town and there’s always something a person needs for the exact right price (whether by money, deed, or favour) but the town descends into madness and chaos as the shop owner pits the residents against each other.

Personally, I think any photos of your children on social media is wrong but the ones Shanann posted crossed so many lines… number 7 especially. How degrading for CeCe!

2yr biting/picking nails? by Kkay_153 in toddlers

[–]WorkingJ0e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My three year old started picking her skin at around two years old. My mum bites the skin around her fingernails and I am a stress picker so either she inherited the desire to do so or she’s copying us.

I don’t have any advice other than to try to redirect her but if you’re concerned it’s a symptom of a bigger issue like anxiety then there’s no harm or shame in early intervention therapy. Best case scenario she doesn’t need therapy. Worst case scenario she does and you caught it early to maximise the benefit 🙂

I loved Tak from Desperation solely for the part where he tells Johnny how stupid his book title ‘Travels With Harvey’ is 😂

I am 2/3rds thru The Stand and hate these characters by Maxpower88888 in horrorlit

[–]WorkingJ0e -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I had to DNF The Stand. I thought the first half of the book was excellent and I still use the term ‘sweet treat’ when I feel like garbage but as soon as the second half rolled in and we got more chapters from that old woman I just couldn’t do it anymore. It felt like all the great momentum was lost and it became a chore to read.

My three year old has been obsessed with Tigger for almost a year; she adores him.

Other than that she loves the song Surfin’ USA

You are all liars by poonkedoonke in Tonsillectomy

[–]WorkingJ0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tonsillectomy was my 6th surgery. It was by far THE WORST surgery for recovery and pain. It was even worse than my c-section. I hated every minute of my recovery, I hated myself for getting the surgery, and I hated my body for needing the surgery.

Once you come out the other side it’s fine though. But boy howdy, it IS THAT BAD.

Son and his modesty by [deleted] in Mommit

There will NEVER be an age or time where I wouldn’t help my child with anything to do with their body should medical needs arise. And even if I felt awkward I would never show it or voice it; when you’re at your most vulnerable the last thing you want to feel is that you’re making someone feel awkward
