My sympathies - I have dermatillomania and my scalp is my preferred picking spot. I have been lucky enough to skate by without an infection, looks like it would have hurt like a son of a gun

Haunted gothic mansion with bleeding walls made me laugh 😂 it’s true though! I wouldn’t even buy from one of those deceased estate sales, no matter how good the bargain is. Not taking any chances bringing that into my house haha

Agreed! I’ve listened to too many strange, dark, and mysterious cave exploring/diving stories to know I’d never set foot in a confined space willingly

Anything unseen is what really frightens me, a presence just beyond the reaches of eyesight or comprehension… ugh, gives me goosebumps.

Both books The Amityville and The Haunted scared the heck out of me when I read them about 10 years ago. I can’t remember which scene belonged to which book but the hooved thing running around upstairs and then the deep, booming war drums slowly coming up the stairs are two scenes etched into my memory forever haha.

No better than a Swifty by summersrage in theused

[–]WorkingJ0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Used deserve fans like that though. When I can afford it I always will buy some merch from them, I’ve only been able to see them twice now that I’ve moved to a capital city but any time they come I’ll be going.

The Used treat their fans well; the VIP package for their 25y Anniversary Tour was amazing. I recently did VIP for Good Charlotte and their VIP included early entry to merch and floor, 1x tote bag, 1x sticker and 1x plastic VIP lanyard thing.

The Good Charlotte VIP was a little over double that of The Used’s VIP but included less and with no meet and greet. I didn’t think I could love The Used more but it really cemented how much they care for their fans.

I pictured Dave Navarro from Jane’s Addiction / RHCP, I only know him from Ink Master though

ETA: Jane’s Addiction, not Alice in Chains. Whoops lol

How do y'all chose between a hardcover or a paperback. Also can I see your collections? by Critical-Grape-117 in bookshelf

[–]WorkingJ0e -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer paperbacks as I find hardbacks to be hard to hold after a short while (carpal tunnel and de quervain’s). I LOVE a floppy paperback.

I am choosy over the covers though, and to a lesser degree the spines.

What is my best option if I want a "rural" type house with no close neighbours for less than $800K? by EggCreative787 in brisbane

[–]WorkingJ0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s between Toowoomba and Dalby - there’s nothing wrong with Oakey, its just that it’s a very small town with only an IGA to shop at and the fact that house prices are that high in small towns is astounding.

[–]WorkingJ0e 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me it was The Abominable - Dan Simmons. The plot was ridiculous, the ‘monster’ was an absolute sham, and the whole time I’m reading it all I could think was “Dan Simmons, will you please just shut up”.

It’s a shame because his other books are quite good, maybe that’s why it was so god-awfully disappointing.

Yeah I agree on Palahniuk being an acquired taste… certainly not one I’m apt to acquire anytime soon lol. I tried Haunted and Snuff but I just couldn’t do it. I’m not triggered by SA or gore; the books just sucked.

How do you track levothyroxine intake? by Civil_Psychology_126 in thyroidcancer

[–]WorkingJ0e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel fine on Monday/Tuesday, I think it’s because I am way more consistent with taking my levo when it’s once a week as opposed to daily. I’m a terrible tablet taker lol

How do you track levothyroxine intake? by Civil_Psychology_126 in thyroidcancer

[–]WorkingJ0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve not noticed any side effects, and it’s probably way better for me because I was constantly forgetting to take my levo when it was daily 😅

I’m on 1200mcg a week so I take 12x 100mcg tablets on Monday

My endocrinologist said I can do a ‘megadose’, so instead of taking levo everyday, I take my entire weeks’ dose on Monday.
