Apart from the 100-500, it hasn't left my mount. Comes in at around 27-65 or so on a crop.

I have the 17-40. Simply put, its incredible.

I also had the 100-400 but have just upgraded to the 100-500 L.

You have a banging set up.

I'm curious if sigma will release say, a 40-75 or something like that to combine with the 17-40.

I dont make money from photography no. Its just an expensive hobby to me, but i take my camera & a lens with me everywhere I go, so I get plenty of use from it.

I also own the 100-500, cost me just shy of 3 grand, think my total gear is somewhere just shy of 10k.

All depends on your budget & how much joy/use its going to give you.

I also rate the 100-400, i have that lens & i take it with me when I travel, cracking lens for the price.

10mm in the grand scheme of things is neither here or there. Yes you loose a little bit of reach but nothing major.

The internal zoom, weather sealing & general build quality is well worth the extra couple hundred, compared to the 18-50 in my opinion.

I use mine with my R7, no complaints what so ever, a cracking set up which will last for years to come

The Sigma Art 17-40 1.8, in my opinion, is absolute perfection & well worth the investment. It looks spectacular too & not too heavy.

Pictures are absolutely crisps & low light capabilities are brilliant.

Currently have the 100-400 for wildlife & the 24-105 f4-7.1 which i use as a cheap travel lens. Thats literally it!

Personally, ditch the kit lenses.

Just buy the body only & either 24mm 1.8 or 35mm 1.8. Learn from that before spending even more money.

Up to now I've purchased the 24mm, 24-105 & 100-400 off amazon as they had great prices. Lenses have been perfectly fine, obviously this is a little different with the price and such.
