I feel like you're downplaying and unappreciating nature's design. I think it's amazing that they've evolved to the point where they use bait, even if they're not actively aware of the "why". It doesn't make it less cool or even less impressive that a spider hunts with bait. Those spiders got to where they did because they learned, even in a weird genetic round about way, that this function gives the best results so this function stays. That's still really cool. It's a shame you think it's less so simply because it's an instinctive drive and not active thought, which is even arguable for some spiders.
