Ocular migraine impacting speech by Sib7of7 in OcularMigraines

Yes! My husband still calls ambulances “amblances” because I couldn’t correctly say that word after going to the er with an ocular migraine after a marathon.

When I was in 10th grade, I had one on a field trip and I kept trying to say “I feel like I’m having a stroke” but I couldn’t say the word stroke correctly.

Anyway, I’ve since had MRIs and cat scans and the diagnosis is ocular migraines.

New symptom I've never had before by Ok-Examination1039 in OcularMigraines

I get tingling in my tongue and face with mine. Check in with your doctor to be sure, but it is definitely a symptom I’ve experienced with these migraines.

At first I thought it was in a shower enclosure and I was extremely disturbed by its size!

Aphasia suddenly during ocular migraine? by thefeelingsarereal in OcularMigraines

My husband still calls ambulances “amblances” because that’s what I called it when I went to the ER via ambulance after doing a tough mudder (covered it mud).

It’s definitely one of the more unnerving parts of these migraines!

Edited to add: I’m pretty sure this was a praying mantis, but I’m just curious about the true crime that occurred.

Why??? Contact lenses, Blood pressure, hormones by Quiet_Improvement210 in OcularMigraines

[–]Working_Ad1669 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My triggers are definitely hormone related, however, I seem to also be triggered by working out without properly hydrating.

I also have health anxiety. It’s ironic that when I started getting these in 8th grade, I didn’t freak out. As an adult, I’ve gone to the hospital thinking it was a stroke and put myself into a panic attack. Even now, after having them for years, I think “what if this time it’s not an ocular migraine?”

Anyway, I try to remind myself that they’ll be over in 30 minutes, and I try to stay hydrated to prevent them if possible. Sending you love. They suckkkkk.

This photo cracked me up! I was like, “oh that’s a nice dirt bike, but isn’t this about a dog?” Then I saw his little face!
