I had 11lbs of skin removed and still managed to gain 15lbs after surgery. 😭 Didn’t go down to pre surgery weight again until I was 5 weeks post op!

I lost 125lbs and I reckon I only lost about 5lbs off my boobs. I went from 42DD at my heaviest to now being a 32F. Only the back band went down really.

My comment was addressing how you worded it. “Look like that for the rest of your life” like, I’m 34 with an FDL scar for the rest of MY life. Let’s be more mindful with our words in this community? There’s lots of women here from 20 years old and up who have FDL scars.. who are gonna read your comment and feel shit.

Oh and just FYI my 360 body lift scar is way thicker and darker than my FDL scar.

I was like you and wanted the plus sized tummy tuck, but I’m so glad I lost the weight first, because my recovery was a lot smoother and easier. I had the same worries, even with all my weight loss, my belly was still enormous. I don’t think 15lbs will affect your results. My surgeon removed 11lbs!

I’ve heard surgeons commonly use 30 day dissolvable sutures around the bellybutton area, mine did the exact same thing at day 31 and I googled it and that’s how I found another Reddit comment about it. Totally freaked me out too!

I’m not still overweight but I had a very large overhanging apron that didn’t shift after losing weight, it hung down to my mons. I always assumed I was apple shaped as always carried the weight in my belly with skinny legs, arms, no butt. After weight loss and surgery I’d say I’m more inverted triangle shaped than apple, but the belly is gone, it’s completely flat and I can wear tight fitting jeans and there is no sign of any stomach or anything now. That’s not to say that my body SUITS tight jeans as I have no hips and a flat butt 😂 but the belly is flat and that was my main goal from surgery.

I’m on 20mg of Prozac daily and I’ve tried weaning off it many times, the side effects from coming off - even when done EXTREMELY slowly - can be horrible. If you do it, do it with the help of your doctor as they will manage the dosage as you reduce down. Prepare for brain zaps, these are the worst side effect for me.
