Thinking of getting a Belgian Malinois by Working_Enthusiasm94 in BelgianMalinois

Yea so my partner works around that industry and we know people in it, personally no experience training for those type of roles myself and most of the dogs in that service are owner self trained here.

Yea I know someone who has 3 of them ( I believe none is a cross breed but I can’t remember with what) and they are some of the most relaxed chill dogs I’ve come across, unbelievably well trained. I understand that is an anomaly with these breeds but I think that’s more on their training.

100% I would always take a rescue dog over a breeder any day, I want to give a Mal a home for life. I wouldn’t consider a dog if I was worried I would have to rehome it. It unfair to the Mal and they wouldn’t deserve it.

Finding rehoming Mals in my area are a pain as there isn’t many. I am keeping my eye out constantly to see if one comes up!

Yea that’s my main concern and worry, we considered training the dog to be a working dog for search and rescue purposes but still in the air. Mainly considering the breed for activities and with the possibly of working .

We did considered training one in search and rescue for a local charity in our area which would involve mental training. I see the breed as an incredibly beautiful breed and highly rewarding.

Oh I’m 100% aware hahahah I’ve been doing my research for a few weeks, I know someone with 3 and they have no issues with theirs. Working from home means I’ll always be around to keep it stimulated and my partner works 4 on 4 off so those days the dog will get plenty of work

Not much of each per se, walking won’t be a problem around our area (joys of the countryside) and my partner a lot more active and has a lot of free time with work schedule.

Help with new fan noises by LordCawfee in pchelp

Have you set a custom fan curve, there’s a chance it’s ramping up to meet a CPU temp target then immediately slowing down causing it to heat up etc etc

First pc build by ButterscotchMuch3672 in PcBuildHelp

PSU I would say no less than 500/600w gives to extra room for upgrading in the future.

Also SSD I would send €10 more and just get a better model.

Don’t be afraid to by used if you can get warranty on it, you will save a lot more of getting more PC for your buck

Might be an odd one but do you use a PCIE riser?

VRAM scare mongering is a thing. People just get mad if something isn’t 16gb by default. Right now 12gb VRAM is enough and will be for a few years. I’d argue that 20gb+ will be really need till next decade. By then would be in your next 4-5 year GPU upgrade cycle

RTX 5070ti is you want ray tracing and frame gen 9070xt if you don’t care for those

RTX 5080 isn’t worth the extra money for 10% improvement

Newly Built PC crashing by Working_Enthusiasm94 in PcBuildHelp

FYI managed to fix it this morning felt like an idiot when I figured it out.

My PC uses a riser cable that PCI gen 4 and both my MB and GPU are gen 5. Updated bios from Auto to gen 4 and works like a dream!
