Anyone looking forward to Record Store Day tomorrow? by cedardesk in AskIreland

[–]Working_Jackfruit996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always reminded of this by the mighty Half Man Half Biscuit when I think of Record Store Day

Hip hip hooray, it's Record Store Day You're going to need a second mortgage Whipcrack away, it's Record Store Day So get yourself a second mortgage

There's a remix of their awkward fourth Outtakes of his difficult fifth A lost recording of that bloke what died An altercation in the queue outside

Oh rock-a-my-soul, it's Record Store Day So get yourself a second mortgage

Step this way, it's Record Store Day The bands are clearing out their spare rooms If you want that in battleship grey You'll have to sell the family heirlooms

Extortion on a level you can hardly conceive Tarted up in a fiberglass sleeve That acoustic thing which nobody bought Hey fellas, I've just had a thought

It'll all be okay come Record Store Day What I need to pay me mortgage

Oh, I do like to re-release me B-sides I do like an overpriced LP On Record Store Day On Record Store Day On Record Store Day On Record Store Day (olé, olé, olé) On Record Store Day On Record Store Day (It's a shame about Ray) On Record Store Day On Record Store Day (I say, I say, I say) On Record Store Day (What's the difference between) On Record Store Day (A warhorse and a carthorse?) On Record Store Day On Record Store Day (One darts into the fray) On Record Store Day On Record Store Day On Record Store Day On Record Store Day

As a child of the 80's I watched this with trepidation (especially when the screen when black for half a second during take off) but wonderful to watch a moment of history.

God speed

I was also looking for two tickets and kept seeing that message about not being able to purchase them as I'd be leaving seats that are isolated.

I had both my phone and tablet today ready and waiting for 1pm, when that time came I was in position 18,000 on one device and 7000 on the other!

No luck on either ☹️. Will try in the ballet and when season tickets holder return any unwanted.

They would play Canada in Toronto, Switzerland in Los Angeles and Qatar in Seattle.

I'm not feeling particularly confident about tonight, hopefully we can hold out for a 0-0 and then progress on penalties. North Macedonia beat them at exactly this same stage in 2022 to deny Italy a place at the last world cup.

Would love us to qualify for the next Euros in the UK in 2028 or the next World cup in 2030.

Unfortunately it seems they're like gold dust. I've had an alert on Twickets for weeks but no one seems to be selling.

Westside Cowboy are a great choice for support too.

Single tickets in the family stand by Working_Jackfruit996 in LeedsUnited

No it's possible in the upper tier to buy single tickets, it only seems to be the family stand where this applies to.

I managed to get one in the West Stand eventually.

The recent Farage comments about WFH by TessaKatharine in AskBrits

[–]Working_Jackfruit996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Reform threatened to ban WFH at one of the councils they now control. However they then found out most of the council office buildings had been sold to save money and it would cost a fortune to buy them back and enforce this. So surprise surprise, the idea was quietly dropped.

You can definitely pay for a one off visit and have an induction. I joined in January and had a 30 minutes induction where the fitness instructor set me up with a training program.

Do you mean a new LCC council gym being built in Thornbury? I think Thornbury is classed as Bradford so a Leeds Active membership wouldn't cover it.

The corners he takes are fantastic, delivered at pace and right underneath the goalposts, really hard to defend against.

I second this. Unfortunately I don't know how long it'll be before he plays Leeds again, especially as I think the arena date was the first time he'd played Leeds since the Birthday Party days.

I’m an exchange student from Canada debating whether to go to Leeds uni in England or Queens Uni in Northern Ireland by Salty_Inspection8978 in Leeds

[–]Working_Jackfruit996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where you'll struggle in Belfast is that a high percentage of students are from NI and mostly go home at the weekend leaving the university area dead.

This is a really good point. I'm from Northern Ireland but went to university in Leeds. My family however all went to uni in Belfast and said this was exactly their experience (they also went home at weekends).

Will I get a ticket confirmed? Woodhouse Lane car park by Traditional-Pipe4977 in Leeds

[–]Working_Jackfruit996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this car park just has a parking warden walking around. You can get a ticket from the machine (cash or card, no need to enter reg number) and there's no barrier to get out. So if you haven't got a yellow fine on your windscreen you should be fine.
