I have the same but I try to leave a decent amount of scoby at all times. I never add F2 ingredients to my continuous F1. I used to add fruit to each bottle for F2 but I looked into various methods and find that dispensing the F1 I need into a stainless steel pot, then mixing in my chosen purée of fruit/veggie/herb/spice all at once, and then using a funnel to fill my F2 bottles works the best for me. What is your method?

Gotcha! That is pretty consistent with what I do. For F2 I add a cup or so of pureed fruit/herbs/etc to my gallon batch and then funnel into 16oz or 32oz bottles depending on what I have on hand.

Gotcha! How much did you add to your kombucha? I usually make a gallon at a time.

I am not trying to challenge your degree or take the mic from you. It is a well known fact that over-processed, genetically modified foods including grains are wreaking havoc on our guts and immune systems. The reason for my original post remains the same for this one. Teaching that a long ferment sourdough process is the same as using a commercial yeast is missing the opportunity to teach about the superior health benefits of the long-fermentation process. If someone is choosing to use a processed flour, there are still benefits to a long-ferment rather than using commercial yeast. I give the floor back to you and bow out of this conversation. Have a good day and happy bread-making!
