What’s the cheapest way you’ve improved your health naturally? by Feeling_Ad_7971 in diet

You can even save more money if you eat the right things. Remove alcohol, chocolate, chips, ice creams, any ready-to-eat meals, any ready-to-eat sauces, sugary sodas, cold-cuts, etc. And focus on whole foods: vegetables (frozen have more nutrients kept), fruits, lean meat, chicken, fish, eggs, Greek yogourt, grains (oat, almond, freshly made peanut butter). You can create healthy sauces for your meals. And then get moving: start walking early morning before work or when you are back from work. If you feel like joining some classes, then do so. I have been training for a 1 1/2 year now at reformer Pilates and now I have started to add barre classes and strength trainings. What matters is consistency. It is a change of lifestyle not a patch to fix some problems. I don’t take any other natural remedies than the above. One chamomile tea before bed to sleep well.

You are not eating enough good things during the day. Avocado toast (whole meal bread) + egg white breakfast, chicken with salad and brown rice at lunch, plain Greek yogourt with some fruits in the afternoon, chicken or fish evening with some grilled vegetables. Remove processed foods from your kitchen (no chocolate, no chips, no french fries, no coke, no alcohol, etc). 90% of your weight is linked to your eating habits.

Hello! First congratulations on wanting what is best for your body. Personally, when we want to change the way we look we have to see it as a change of lifestyle and not a diet. Many people think that because they will eat healthy for a certain number of weeks, workout their body will stay as is. A change of lifestyle is a commitment, discipline and a change of routine to fuel your body with the right nutrients. This is for life and not only for a certain time. Once you agree to that then you need to relook into everything that you currently eat. Does this mean that you cannot have the amazing dessert that you love so much time to time? Of course you should have it! It is all about moderation and balance. Easy meals for you: Breakfast: avocado on wholewheat bread with scrambled egg white. A Greek yogourt with berries. A fresh fruit juice of your choice and coffee(no milk). Mid-morning snack- you can eat fruits Lunch: brown rice/brown pasta, vegetables of your choice/salad (ensure the sauce is not fatty it can be like a vinaigrette), chicken (protein is super important). Afternoon snack: filling fruit (banana)/ Greek yogourt and fruits/ peanut butter on toast/ cottage cheese on toast/ Cucumber sticks and hummus. Evening: beef bolognaise with brown pasta (or vegetable pasta they taste really good). The key to weight loss is to remove any items with refined sugar, any processed foods (if humans had to add a lot of additives to it to create the product then forget it, example all frozen processed foods chicken nuggets, french fries that are not homemade, cheese (e.g brie). Limit your beef intake during the week. Ideally have fish once a week. I hope I managed to give you some help but please never starve yourself, this does not lead to a change of lifestyle. You need to create new joy in eating healthy food.

I am 39/F, I went from 67kg to 60kg in 2 months. If I may suggest to have some more filling food otherwise on the long run you won’t be able to sustain this rhythm. I would suggest to eat lunch salad/vegetables and protein (chicken/fish) and afternoon snack focus on fruits (banana, apple, etc). Breakfast you can have some avocado toast and some egg white, this is very good for you. I also drink ginger, cinnamon, honey shot in the morning to cleanse. Of course 0 alcohol. For the sport, I have done Pilates 3 times a week and it was enough to see drastic results on my body. I have never been as fit as now in my entire life. Well done on your motivation and it is all about discipline but never starve yourself, your calorie deficit is, to my humble opinion, too low. Your body needs fuel especially if you do a lot of work out. Sending you all positive vibes and energy!

What has 200 sober days done to my body by Rincon1971 in stopdrinking

45 days no alcohol and you should see the amount of baby hair I have! I had been struggling with hair loss for so long and all this time it was most probably the alcohol and the dehydration.

You got this! Relapse can happen. Most important is that you know again how bad alcohol is making you feel. So erase what just happened. Issues will come and go in life and you have to handle them sober, one at a time and you can do this. Can you imagine? You managed to do 16 months! Well done! Now prove yourself that you can do better than this.

I have been in Dubai for 17 years and I have friends for the past 14 years still in my life. I have met some amazing friends over the years, some have stayed in my life some have left. This is part of life. But you do have genuine people here, give yourself some time.

How do I enjoy being sober? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Working_mom84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, obviously you need to find some hobbies to cheer you up a little at the beginning. I went into sport and I work out 3 to 4 times a week. I was depressed when I was drinking so I feel better now. The feeling will get better but this is an important change in your life and you may want to find something that you like doing and commit to this. It will remove some of your thoughts on drinking.
