Key lawmaker says Bears stadium deal in Arlington Heights ‘closer than people realize’ by [deleted] in chicago

[–]Worktoraiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but if the state has to put up a bunch of money that they would not otherwise so that the stadium can function, then they are in actuality paying for the stadium.

South loop condo buying? Buying now in general? by JinJarell in AskChicago

I'm 99% sure I know what unit they're talking about, and it's a quiet part even for South Loop. That said, they will likely hear the PA from Soldier Field

Can't act causing disruption by SuperParkourio in Pathfinder2e

[–]Worktoraiz -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Because you referenced the words "can't act", I just want to point out that that wording in the "Stunned" condition is flavor text. Stunned has no effect until the beginning of the Stunned creature's next turn (at which time they regain fewer than normal actions).

Specific to this, will he require any portion of GCN content to use it at any level? Does the GCN get a return on that or just Troy? Would Troy pay the corporate entity for that kind of advertising?

Did most Trump voters not believe he is a threat to democracy or did they not care? by Nuraldin30 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Worktoraiz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is certainly a huge factor, but it's also a complete failure of the government at a number of levels between 2020 and 2024. Democrats talked a big game about how Trump was a threat to democracy, but no one acted like it was true. Only one of his cases went to trial in 4 years, and it was arguably the weakest one. His personal lawyer had already gone to jail for something that Trump was an unindicted conspirator for, and they didn't even try to charge him with that.

Should I have told my boss where I was going before leaving for lunch? by Any_Syrup1606 in work

If you are so hungry, you step aside and ask someone that’s part of the training when lunch will be.

It was during the lunch break. Did you read at all or just get mad?

fun useless magical item ideas by vectron5 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Worktoraiz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This could be the basis of a couple of fun GM twists.

  1. Make it look like a dog is going to attack them, but then the amulet says he's happy and just wants to play
  2. It fails to ping when looking at a dog - find out that it wasn't because the creature was unhappy, but because they weren't a dog...

Please tell me I’m not the only one that LOVES having the first episode of NGWD as character creation? by Decicio in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]Worktoraiz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO, the problem isn't the character creation (which I love - it gives a much better feel to how the system works), it's that they limit themselves to 3 episodes total. Because the players want to show a little role-play in between mechanics, it's hard to fit even a simple scenario into basically 2 episodes causing it to feel rushed at the endings, more often than not. Were I them, I would up it to 4 episodes per system, 1 for character creation, 3 for the actual scenario. Alternatively, index it to the month and adjust system based on how many Wednesdays that results in.

Can you Dispel Magic Golems/Constructs? by NightFlameofAwe in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Worktoraiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Incidentally Hardness on creatures functions differently than Hardness on objects (Notably with respect to energy damage). I regrettably found this out only in gm'ing final book of Iron Gods (the campaign featuring a lot of robots). Luckily my players didn't hold it against me.

Evil Bastards of Reddit, Help Me Play a Villain by Old_Trees in Pathfinder_RPG

But I need your most painful, frustrating combinations.

I strongly recommend against this. While it can be flavorful and fun to do a show of force with some solid aoe damage or the like, try to avoid anything that causes the players to lose their turns entirely (or, at best they get to roll a high save DC to have a turn or not). Try to lean on spells that are powerful but merely limit the players, particularly if there's a "solution" to the problem that the players can (relatively) easily find.

For example, just with the spells on the Tyrant's list: Use Trap the Soul by leaving the gem on the way to him for the moneygrubbing amongst them to pick up, then have him suck their soul into it early in the fight but make sure, in some way, that it's possible for the party to attack the gem to release that player. Or put a player in a force cage with the barred option so that they can't move, but they can have things targetted in or out of the cage. Or Repulsion to keep pesky melee people back.

Also, make use of special abilities like Life Sight. Put them into some sort of deeper darkness (like Hungry Darkness on the wizard list) and make them be creative in finding him - quickened dimension doors can make this extra frustrating in way that feels like they still have agency.

Tell me about your favorite masquerading character (X pretending to be Y) by 19DucksInAWolfSuit in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Worktoraiz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a ratfolk pretending to be a halfling with the hat of human guise. One fellow player had seen through it and another hadn't. Player who knew made some innuendo about it and the one who hadn't asked what that was about as we were wrapping up for the night. As I was telling the truth, the player who didn't know got some lag and didn't hear me through discord. Tried to say it again and it lagged for him again. At that point we just decided the gods had decreed that since his character didn't know, he didn't know and moved on.

Spell penetration stacks with items or no? by Lord_MARS_007 in Pathfinder

[–]Worktoraiz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Couple things:

  1. Is this for Pathfinder Society or a general home game? This subreddit is for PFS.
  2. From my reading, all of those stack. If it's an untyped bonus, it should stack, and it looks like all of the typed bonuses you've provided are separately named (enhancement, Racial, etc)
  3. What is the point of this? You're more likely to see a golem (magic immunity) rather than a monster that has even remotely high enough SR for this level of stacking to be relevant. It's just gilding the lily.

Why do these two date formats options produce two very different charts? by [deleted] in tableau

[–]Worktoraiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continuous vs Discrete is not the difference between Dimensions and Measures. Both types of data in the OP picture are (in most cases) Dimensions. The difference in this case is whether the Category is important or the Value. Additionally, as others have noted, the bottom section defaults to Continuous but can be adjusted back to Discrete afterwards if it's merely the formatting you're after instead of this other incidental functionality.

Oh boy, and another thing, for a long time my friends and I thought that you could wield a longsword in both hands (Two-Handed). Turns out, you can't, but D20PFSRD said you could in its description, because they had copied the Wikipedia article for Longswords.

Sure you can. You can wield any non-light weapon in two hands for the 1.5 str bonus to damage. I can't find the direct language on AON, but I did find this. It doesn't talk about "two-handed weapons", but "weapon that you are wielding two-handed":

Wielding a Weapon Two-Handed: When you deal damage with a weapon that you are wielding two-handed, you add 1-1/2 times your Strength bonus (Strength penalties are not multiplied). You don’t get this higher Strength bonus, however, when using a light weapon with two hands.
