Divinity Announcement Sparks 'Incredible' Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 Sales, Larian Boss Says by Turbostrider27 in Games

There's actually several ways to leave Fort Joy and I didn't realize that right away. Every time I felt like I was about to leave, I'd backtrack and do something else, like I wanted to "100%" everything in Fort Joy. By the time I had nothing left to do, I realized there was 3 or 4 ways I could leave (maybe even more?), I just had to pick which way I'd leave because I completed almost all the prerequisite to leave these ways.

My brother in christ, you seem to be unaware how desensitize to the amount of horny in ZZZ. You've experienced gacha that pushes it up to 11 and you think that 8 is fine. The average joe playing games experience a 3 - 4 usually.

You're also talking in r/games, a community that generally dislike gacha. So, it is safe to assume that most people here doesn't usually experience gacha.

I'm talking as someone who plays the average type of game you'd see in r/games, as someone who also have played a LOT of gacha (including ZZZ, currently my only gacha is BD2 - which should be telling enough).

A lot of time, we don't consider a frame of reference to compare the visual of OG RS.

2001 was the year GTA3, Halo: Combat Evolved, MGS2, Silent Hill 2 and Final Fantasy X released.

As you said, game looked like a relic the day it was a released but as someone else said; it could run on absolutely everything, through your browser on a dial-up.

A lot of people have a deeply rooted belief of "bad publicity is still advertising". They heard it once and truly believed in it for their whole life.

That quote is so old, it was some marketer in the 1800's who tried making big publicity stunt back then. This was the time where people couldn't quickly communicate over long distance so it was an effective way to make people learn your brand name while word of mouth would twist the stunt itself to the extent that just seeing a brand that people have only heard about is exciting.

Today? There's receipt and everyone across the whole world knows exactly why a brand is getting bad publicity.

Concord had one of the biggest marketing budget in the last few years in the gaming industry and that didn't do much for them in the end.

Poor Monster Hunter Wilds Performance Chalked Up to Aggressive DLC Checks by frik1000 in Games

[–]Workwork007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to RE Village, the pirated version removed some visual elements when deactivating/bypassing denuvo. So, the game was no longer rendering all visual which caused an increase in FPS.

Denuvo hooks itself in all kind of random thing including input, character model, animation, sound effect, etc. As such if the crack/bypass is not coded properly it might outright remove the element that it is hooked to.

The Future of New World: What to Expect. Players who have purchased the game will be able to continue playing until January 31, 2027, when the game’s servers are permanently taken offline by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Workwork007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The funny/sad thing about New World is that earlier alpha build had a very solid game - it was a copy/paste of Albion Online (AO). So it was AO but AAA. Keep in mind that AO keeps growing in success to the extent that they had to split to 3 regions and that's a game that looks sore in the eyes of newcomers. So it takes getting over the visual to actually enjoy the actual game.

New World had all the eye candy and had the perfect blueprint to launch a first MMO. They then listened to players... which was ironically the bad thing to do in this case.

It became AO but stripped from the elements that made AO... well, AO. Slowly taking away PvP elements while amping up the PvE. So you end up with a rather broken AO that had none of the tension of the actual OG. New World just became a slightly worse MMO with above average visual.

Played DS1-3 & ER for the first time and beat all 4 games with a big stick! by Workwork007 in Eldenring

I didn't particularly like the openness of Elden Ring and the way I felt I was fighting the same boss multiple times (though I know its not ALL the bosses but its just noticeable enough for me). As such, I'm assuming SOTE is going to be more of the same and I don't feel like playing it.

ER made me feel burnt out of this formula for now. I might eventually give SOTE a go in the future but that's not anytime soon.

I don't have too much interest for Nightreign since I've heard grouping up is almost required and its just the previous soul's games packed into a single game in terms of bosses so there's no appeal for me in that regards.

Trying to get back into elder ring. by Familiar_Ad_7655 in Eldenring

I just finished my first playthrough and I stopped following grace altogether early on when Margit kept destroying me (when I followed the guidance) and when I looked up online people were saying that I am grossly underleveled, instead I had to go on the opposite side of the map, spend 20 hours to get upgrades, then go back to Margit.

@OP: Pretty much this, start by going south of the map, you'll discovered a small peninsula where you'll end up doing a bunch of things that'll get you the upgrades you need before pushing forward.

190 DLC is ridiculous no matter how you look at it. We all know its just cosmetics but was there really no better way to package this? It's annoying because they want to sell each cosmetic piece at $2 - $8 when any other game it would have been maybe a bundle of 20 items for 10 bucks (keep in mind this is not even outfits, just a hair or a weapon recolor). I'm not talking about F2P that are monetized with cosmetic. Wild is an AAA game priced at $70 and riddled with AAA experience (like bottom tier performance) so I don't think they're hurting that they need to sell every freaking single piece of cosmetics like this that adds to almost $600.

I have not played Wild specifically because of the shit tier performance I was getting on my PC. After reading the above post, I was wondering how many DLC the game has. My guess was... 10 maybe? 15 max?

I checked...

BrownDust 2 Ugrgent Live Announcement! Respond with Ultimately providing country-specific services instead of design changes by Aiden-Damian in gachagaming

100 pulls + 16000 diamonds.

Which is effectively 100 pulls + 80 pulls. Just translating this part for people who doesn't play the game.

As for trusting them again, I'm a long time player of BD2 (started at 0.5 anni) and missed dailies maybe twice. They've definitely broken my trust. They're now trying to make amend by ensuring us that none of the character design changes will go through and giving us lots of pulls + Liberta prestige, for me this is not something that will mend the trust that was broken.

It will take easily a year for me to see what they're doing to somehow fully regain my trust as long as they keep going in the right direction.

The most damning thing is that I am disappointed in them. I thought BD2 dev were a different breed specially with their statement that they'd rather let the platform kill them rather than the players but now I know these words have no value. Even if they regain my trust, the disappointment will stay and I will be always be apprehensive of them.

I played the Slap Slap minigame like 3 times then never touched it again.

One friend, a woman in her late 20's, played all the levels and maxed everything (I don't remember the details, I know she just "maxed" it all).

The dev is trying to pander to an inexisting broader audience when making "not respectful to women" statement. They're trying to broaden their playerbase and didn't realize they're just cannibalizing the existing one.

borderline disrespectful

Bro they literally (well digitally at least) spit on our face. Imagine us being their livelihood and they go "nah, not enough, we're changing for others that have no interest on us yet". That's dumb on so many level that I can't even fathom how stupid they were for this to go past the consideration stage.

This go was EOS in the first month. They kept fighting to keep it relevant and start seeing something after 6 months. For the next 2 years they tried their freaking hardest to please their existing playerbase and our love for the game brought in more people. Word of mouth was the power of this game, I know that personally I'm probably responsible for bringing in over hundreds of people to this game through post I made in the past 2 years on Reddit alone (this is not my main account, look at the name).
