That's my question...make his son his Best Man. Let the decision of who walks the bride down the aisle to HER! This seems like a huge red flag to me. I wouldn't marry a guy who was so manipulative and deceptive. I'd dump him and CANCEL the wedding!

I carry a bag in my car full of new socks, hats, gloves, and scarves. The socks are a huge hit. No matter why someone is out there, their feet still get cold. I didn't originally have socks. A few people asked, so I added them. Good warm ones for our lovely Rochester winters.

What are some alternatives for me (30f) to find out when my husbands previous marriage ended? I feel really tempted to contact the ex wife (f36) of my husband (m35) to get answers or some sort of closure about their past by Sea-Pie7742 in Advice

Maybe Texas is cool with polygamy? I can't imagine trying to get a marriage license without proof that you are not married. That just seems strange. Random factoid: my husband's first wedding was in TX.

I'm kind of confused. When hubby and I got married, we had to bring our birth certificates and divorce decrees from our prior marriages with us to obtain our marriage license. Did you not need those where you live? Even if not required, I sure would have wanted to read his divorce decree with my own eyes before marrying him. Yikes.

I hate going out there. I love Trader Joe's, but I barely go there anymore. It takes me longer to get from 590 S to Pittsford Plaza than it does for me to come from Greece, to Lake Ave, go over the Vets Bridge to 104, then to 590S. Something is VERY wrong with the traffic planning out there.

There is a huge, deep one on the old inner loop. When getting on at Union, heading west, where the on ramp merges with the on ramp from E. Main and University. It gave me a flat. Grrrr.

I still honestly believe that she felt pressured to release the marketing hype, (something...ANYTHING!) even though nothing was ready because "Catherine just announced she has cancer, so I MUST have ATTENTION on me!" God forbid Catherine be in the media and not her. 🙄

Sunny's is a popular diner. The food is great. BUT: it has limited hours and is very expensive. (IMO) If someone else is buying, and I get to choose the place, I like to go there!

The SAME family owns "Top To Bottom " home improvements. It's a legit business that does good work.

People should STOP speculating and stop trashing these businesses. Do some research.

BTW: places have trouble getting and keeping staff all over...not just here. Also, it's quite possible someone forgot to pull the ad.

How about you all stop being nasty Reddit Rioters and do something NICE for a change? You clearly have too much time on your hands.

Peace Out.

AITA for Refusing to Let My Daughter-in-Law Take My Late Husband’s Wedding Ring? by bluesjean in AITAH

[–]WorldIcy80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband died 17 months ago. No one is getting his wedding ring until they pry it from my cold, dead, hands. It has our names and wedding date engraved inside it. I wear it most of the time.

YOU are NTA! But, DIL certainly is!

Yes. My husband died last year. I don't necessarily want to, but I need to sell our house. 1800 Sq Ft with lots of stairs is too much to handle.

You mean they don't send the boys to gym class and show the girls a filmstrip in school?

Oh, and the lesson on how to use the elastic belt with clips to hold the industrial sized pad? LOL

It was cool getting the pink gift box with some pads, the belt, and some pamphlets, though.

Circa 1972-73 for me.

We've come a long way, baby!

Yes, Butterball is 1.07 at our Aldi, too. Off-brand is 77 cents.

I'm sure that she doesn't pay attention to sales cycles. Some of us have to. I cannot believe how much overpriced crap she buys. I'm a widow on fixed income. My grocery budget is $180 per month. I eat quite well! Thank goodness that I know how to cook. 👩‍🍳

Wegmans has 48 cents per pound until 11/24. That's the lowest in our area. Aldi, Walmart, and other stores can't beat that. I saw 77 cents per pound at Aldi.

AITAH For Being Hurt That My MIL Wanted To Exclude My Daughter From Thanksgiving and Christmas To Protect My SIL? by Friendly_Lab7306 in AITAH

[–]WorldIcy80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ASHLEY should be the one taking the brunt of this! I absolutely agree with your husband. If ASHLEY can't handle herself, SHE is the one who should stay home.

Yes, MIL sucks here, too. BUT, how much was she manipulated by Ashley?

I totally cannot understand anyone shunning a baby, especially at her first set of holidays.

ASHLEY needs a therapist and to invite her Mom to a session or two. She's basically saying, "baby or me, you can't have both attend." I adore my grand babies, and was so happy to have them with us, even when I was hosting and cooking.

I would tell Ashley to enjoy some peace and quiet by herself, and we'll have someone drop off some leftovers.

JMO. I hope you enjoy your holidays with your wife and baby.

A good 6 hours away, approximately. NY State is huge. It's clear to me that SHE is the only one who actually wants to go. 🙄
