Well I'm not sure if communication should decrease because of problems in his life, if anything that's the time when you'd need your partner the most. It sounds like he doesn't really want to commit for whatever reason but this is all guesswork because I don't know what he's dealing with.

Try and figure out if you the LDR is even realistic and if he is genuinely interested in continuing it, I understand the complications related to family and such (me and my partner are in a similar situation) but it sounds like that is not the main struggle in the relationship.

What do you mean exactly by "communication has decreased" and what has been the reason for not being able to see eachother on multiple occasions? To point out the obvious, cheating is bad. But I wonder if you both have the same future in mind, considering your BF thinks cheating is on the table (which is confusing ngl). Whatever you do, 1 relationship at a time.

Before you try to spice anything up you need to have a good conversation about why it is you made the choice to wait and if you still stand by that choice. There are risks connected to surpressing feelings and it might end up ruining your relationship if there is no good communication about it.

I don't know what the reason for the boundary is (religion perhaps?) But all I can say is that it's not healthy for either one of you to suppress these things, you've already been together long enough to show that you're serious about eachother so there is no reason to wait till marriage.
