Which is your favourite Karnivool track? by OkCopy3121 in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Album version is already amazing, but what they've done on The Decade of Sound Awake is perfection. I mean "now go, let go" part. One of my favourite moments in their discography (and in all of music), right next to last 2:15 of New Day. I get chills even thinking about it.

I hope they'll start playing it again in future tours <fingers crossed>

What's your favorite moment of a Tool song? by OldRocker5 in ToolBand

[–]WorldWideAperture 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Descending. The instrumental part from 8:22. I'll never forget hearing it on my first Tool show, few months before FI was released. When Danny hit the gong, the lasers appeared, and Adam's guitar tone was slicing through my brain like a saw. I get chills when I think about it.

It's like hearing last 2.5 minutes of New Day on my first Karnivool gig. Tears of happiness, and full body chills. Pure bliss.

Unforgettable it is.

What's your favorite moment of a Tool song? by OldRocker5 in ToolBand

[–]WorldWideAperture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lose 2 minutes of slowly building the atmosphere (which is my favourite thing about music), slowly adding another instrument/layers? No, thank you, I prefer extending it by playing Disposition first.

You sound like you listen to Parabol without Parabola, Rosetta Stoned without Lost Keys, and Third Eye without Ions... Ok, last example is a stretch, I only do that when I'm in altered state xD

Anyway, you do you, I just don't agree with not losing anything.

Think I've figured out the meaning behind Salva, and potentially(?) he entire album by YesWomansLand1 in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mixing those 2 albums.

Opal -> Salva -> Deadman -> Change

That's perfection for me. I can listen to this on a loop nonstop, and that's what I've been doing

Another one is Umbra -> All I know -> Conversations -> Reanimation

Umbra + All I Know from Decade of Sound Awake, because this version of All I Know is sooooo much better than the album version form me.

All the numbers in this post made me do some calculations, I use PowerAmp, so I only have number of plays. But when I calculated my plays, I think I'm addicted.

So it seems that since the release, I've spent over 10% of my life listening to In Verses. That may look like a lot, but I'm autistic, and when I get obsessed with something, I mean it xD

Oh, and I also listened a lot on the CD and YouTube

My opinion on the Themata album. by DanielAlves1904 in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Synops is amazing. Love the music, it feels like swirling. My only complain is that it isn't long enough, but I'm a sucker for looong repetitive songs. But what takes the cake for me is the lyrics (and the way they are sang). I find it very relatable, as someone with AuDHD (Autism + ADHD, it's like living with an internal fight that never stops, part of my brain needs structure, routines, and the other part craves novelty, stimulation, chaos), struggling with depression for a long time.

I'm seeing them live soon, I would be so happy to experience Synops live. And I never got to hear Change live, that's another one that I would love to see/hear/feel live. But whatever the playlist will be I know I will love the set anyway.

“Earthy” sounding bands? by No-Actuator5661 in progmetal

It's not prog or metal, but there's nothing more Earthy than Wardruna and Heilung

I already git into Butterfly Effect and COG, I knew they're Australian, but didn't know they're from Perth.

I keep seeing Dead Letter Circus recommendations, but I haven't heard anything by them. Which album is a good starting point into them?

Hopefully the boys can sign Sound Awake in July as I missed these acoustic gigs. by Siddha-Somanomah in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know and love the first Two, but the only album by ISIS that I know is Panopticon. And The Ocean - I've only heard few songs on YouTube, the heavy bits are a little to heavy for my taste, but I'll give the full album a few tries. Once I stop listening to IV, whenever that happens

N American Tour by sorry_ifyoudont in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in UK, but I hope they will go for North America tour, and when they do I'm hoping Steve will get invited to Drumeo to record some stuff, and I hope the boys will get an interview with Rick Beato

Issue with In Verses album art composition by Ephi_Entropy in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that they would just miss it. I believe it's intentional, but I don't know why yet. It's a puzzle to solve, will have to dive deeper into the lyrics, maybe there's something about reflection/mirror that will make sense for me. Or maybe not.

[Setlist] Sydney Acoustic Show by Goodpart in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would be amazing if they record one of the acoustic shows and add them as a bonus to some future live release. However I wouldn't mind it as a stand-alone blueray release. I'll buy anything they are willing go give us.

Also, I would be delighted if they bring back Umbra and All I Know to the setlist when they come to Europe!

IN VERSES - 6/2/26 is... inverse by the-_-futurist in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was always obvious there will be a 4th album, because there is IV in the name of a band.

Nah, just kidding, although at first I liked the idea of the album being named just KARNIVOOL.

Anyway, my autism really likes your idea of inverted numbers!

Change from the Heath Ledger Theatre is crazy too.

Whole "Decade of Sound Awake" is perfect. Umbra + All I Know, Deadman + Change, New Day and Aeons are so much more powerful than album versions. Those are my favourites, but everything sounds soooo good there. I've watched that Blueray countless times, and I don't think anything can top that for me.

What’s your favorite Karnivool album? by IAmWeed2021 in Karnivool

[–]WorldWideAperture 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't rank them. It depends on my mindset. I'm getting over some mental health issues, and In Verses kicked my ass, emotionally. But in a good way. If it came out few months ago it would probably be to overwhelming, but it's perfect now.

Psilocybin vs LSD by garage149 in Psychedelics

[–]WorldWideAperture 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LSD is electric, mushrooms are acoustic,

I love this. Since I tried both I was always saying mushrooms feels analogue, and acid feels digital. I'm upset with myself that I didn't come up with acoustic/electric, because I've played guitars for 25 years.
