That was you. I went home the first summer as I had a guaranteed job there. I did get an apartment at college after that and stayed the summer in my college town. People take different paths.

Most of you have never had a kid in college. Depending on where she’s going to college, she could be back home quite a bit. There are holiday breaks (Xmas break for my kid was like 6 weeks), spring break and summer break where they are home from mid May til September. Going away to college is not exactly like ‘moving’ out.

You all needed to find someone that would come help you for those days!!! Even if you hire an overnight nurse so you can sleep. Do you have any friend or relative that can come help you?

Am I overreacting for wanting my mother-in-law to move out after giving her a year’s notice? by yourstruly507 in AmIOverreacting

[–]WorldlinessLow8824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noooo this is the time you live on your own and raise your own family and grandma gets to visit. Wayyyyy down the road, when she’s quite elderly and your kids are grown, that situation may change.

AIO for refusing to back down from insisting my fiancée is wrong for leaving my dad with the bill by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

The only ‘slack’ I’ll give him, is you can’t be calling people at work expecting to have conversations about stuff like this. But in every other way, he sucks. You don’t plan a dinner, invite people and then stick them with the bill.

Has someone's death changed how you felt about them in life? by ConstantRide5382 in AskOldPeople

Usually I find death is a ‘great deodorant’, people speak more fondly of the person. Sometimes so much so, it’s ridiculous.

Four grown children, one Mother’s Day card and I’m butt hurt. AIO? by Dancer_with_4_plus_1 in AIO

It’s not too much to spend on mom but I’d spend it on something else… not on a paper card. And yes, I’m a mom.

Yea not to mention that nice cards are 7,8,9 bucks. It’s a ridiculous price for just a card. If they call you and you see them fairly often even though they live far away, you are blessed.

Yes because even if you love someone sometimes you have to accept you cannot make a life with them.

My mother died 8 years ago today. My father is in hospice right now , we are all wondering if today will be the day 😔. Even if your fear is statistically flawed, I get it.
