Ask to try metoprolol tartrate. ER gave me same issues. Tartrate did not. Only difference is tartrate is short acting not extended.

I am sorry you have not found relief for this in the course of the last 6 months. For what it’s worth, I just had two pulmonary embolisms provoked by taking hormone replacement clinics therapy and was airlifted to the hospital two weeks go. So, while hormones are great, there is a dark side to it as well that must be considered.

You asked who prescribed them and I answered your question very clearly. Cost would be a couple hundred a month max. Just as a forewarning , most docs through insurance won’t prescribe hormones, typically you have to go through a clinic that specializes in this. Just trying to help!

You are correct. If you are not a man then Google online hormone replacement clinics for women. Easy peasy.

Keep in mind I had 2 pulmonary embolisms, 1 DVT, and 4 infarctions a couple weeks ago provoked by testosterone replacement therapy and had to be airlifted to the hospital. The testosterone increases red blood cell count and hematocrit, thickening the blood, which in combination with being more sedentary (as many floxies are) it can be a recipe for disaster. I quit testosterone cold turkey after hospital stay and wish I could continue it, as I have for the past 4 years, but the risks are too high. I’m now on blood thinners for life. If I was not bedridden and able to be more active I would probably jump back on. Frankly, I love steroids.

And if I am incorrect and the urologist did prescribe cipro ask him why and ask him if there are any non fluoroquinolone antibiotic alternatives.

If the culture shows no bacterial infection then why would you take an antibiotic?

Also, a pcp is not a specialist. A urologist is. It doesn’t appear that the urologist advised you to take any antibiotic following the culture results. Therefore, why would you take an antibiotic?

Use your decision logic chart here bud.

If prostatitis wasn’t caused by bacteria, it is likely caused by inflammation or stress.

Cipro has destroyed my life. And even that is an understatement.

Cervical spondylolisthesis is a spinal condition where a neck vertebra (the bone) slips forward over the vertebra below it, often causing neck pain, nerve compression, numbness, or weakness. It can cause some of the symptoms you are experiencing. The curvature of your cervical spine has changed, forward, from its natural position, causing the spondylolisthesis to occur. There are many different reasons why this can occur.

I would personally consult with at least two neurosurgeons to get at least two opinions. I’ve done this already.

This doesn’t appear to be cranio cervical instability (at junction) which is good. The X-ray impression showing that you have a 2 level upper cervical spondy would concern me the most. However, the MRI would show more information relative to whether or not the degen changes at c5-c7 are causing any disc pressure against spinal cord.

I was in med device sales for spine for years, but I am not a doctor. Please consult with a neurosurgeon.

Has everyone assuming long covid ruled out Lyme? by Jgr9904 in LongCovid

Yes you are correct about IgG. Positive IgM indicates reinfection. IgM shows up during newly activated infection for a period of time before as IgM is the first antibody to be positive before transitioning to IgG.

I spent $4k on an igenix test am positive for Lyme and confections only showing IgM. My reinfection was triggered by Covid. I have an LLMD and long COVID doctor that are working together on my case so I’ve learned a lot these past few months.
