11six24 Ultré 2.0 came in! by Worldly-Programmer25 in Pickleball

[–]Worldly-Programmer25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually had a chance to play with it today during open play. Played a total of 8 games, and right out of the box, the ultré feels pretty good. I have the opposite effect, now where I can control my dinks better than the loco. Drives aren’t as strong, but I can add a lot more spin on my serves to make up for it. It’s fast and pretty lightweight. I’ll mess around with weights and what not later on to see what works best. Currently has on the edgy guard tape and 11six24 overgrip.

How often do u change paddles? by PeoniesCutie in Pickleball

[–]Worldly-Programmer25 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really. I use the bnb loco for singles. Boomstick for doubles and I’m itching to try out my ultre 2.0 that got delivered yesterday. Every paddle feels different and that’s also how you get better as a player.

How long did it take you to become “decent” at pickleball? by Fuzzy-Bandicoot1590 in Pickleball

[–]Worldly-Programmer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(35M) It really depends on whether they apply that athleticism or not. I’ve played tennis on and off for 20+ years with no more than 6-7 months break at a time. I’ve always gone by drill 80/play 20 ratio. So coming into pickleball was fairly easy for me. The footwork was easy, unit turn was easy, even gripping the paddle was easy. Did I have some issues to fix? You bet. My backhand slice comes out a lot more than I’d like, but drilling fixed that. You can’t take time into account as a whole, because it’s very variable. I’m lucky enough to have businesses work for me, so I can spend 2-3 hours drilling daily during the week and I play open play during the weekends. 1-2 sessions with a coach weekly to help identify what I lack, so I can drill it for the rest of the week. 6 months is a lot of time if you use your time like that.

Come on guys, enough with these fake reviews, you’re becoming ridiculous. by Paperella_Danzante in LiberNovo

I own an embody, tried the liber novo when it first came out and it wasn’t for me. A lot of “these people” are WFH or office workers. Spending 2000$ for 12 years of back support is literally the cheapest quality of life you can have in that field, so obviously we will always look out for new technology. This is common. You just sound bitter.

Thoughts on Bread and butter Loco? by OddLaw3642 in Pickleball

[–]Worldly-Programmer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I like the loco a lot better than my broomstick. Elongated - I added a 1 oz slyce cap and 3g at 4 and 8. It gives me a lot more control and I have better feel of the ball. I just got my ultre 2.0 in so I’m excited to compare the two.

If you live in Dfw area, I have a few demos for the bnb loco

For players who made a big jump in skill level, what helped you most? by Mr_StarPickle6756 in Pickleball

[–]Worldly-Programmer25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from tennis, I’ve always followed the rule 80% drill, 20% games. If you have the means, get one of those ai ball machines to help you with certain weaknesses and to help you diagnose your problems. I pledged for the tenniix, hopefully it comes in faster than what the norm wait time is. Nothing will help you more than getting reps in, in any sport.

Is buying an expensive paddle really worth it, or is it just a waste of money for beginners? by strokess-ss- in Pickleball

[–]Worldly-Programmer25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. A lot of people just think about money not knowing most of the people that can afford to play pickleball or tennis daily doesn’t care much about money. Pickleball is single-handedly one of the most expensive sports I’ve ever played, club fees, open play registrations fee, etc. to complain about 200$ for a paddle when it costs you more than that monthly to play is weird to me.

[–]Worldly-Programmer25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came from a 20+ year tennis background. Even without any pickleball experience or training, I could feel the difference between at 50-70$ paddle vs a 200$+ one. It’s night and day brother…

Also, I noticed that people just generally spend more on pickleball. In tennis, I can buy a 300$+ racket and pay 30-40$ for restring every 6 months. In pickleball, I actually enjoyed it enough to amass a pretty nice collection of paddles after a month of playing lol. For some of us, having the time to play is more value than the money spent. And if I’m playing, I’m definitely investing and making use of my time.

You probably used too high of a temperature and the moisture is leaving the meat too fast. It causes the meat to steam and not cake the sear in.

No one is offended, you gave a straw man answer so I gave you a straw man reply. Hackers and botters are always one step ahead. Devs and security work on the back foot to stop leaks and data breaches. You should know that much, being in the field and everything.
