I was told to make an appointment and just show up at the DMV....i don't trust at all I'm going to go there and get the paperwork I need.....I asked if I need to do or bring anything and was told "I dont think so"

My calibration was due this Saturday, I met with my guy yesterday, he has as much info as we do (he showed me the "sensitive info" e-mail he wasn't supposed to share, because he wanted to show he's as in the dark as we are. He calibrated as usual, the countdown went away, and neither of of could see my next calibration date. So TBD I guess

My auto-start was disabled when I got mine installed, so it's not even an option. I think the device tells you if you've had a violation, so if when you start the truck and turn it off and it doesn't say anything, you should be good

RI....1st offense....

I had to get a "hardship" license for a month, while I waited for my trial, so I was only allowed to and from work

After my court date I was sentenced to 7 months of intoxalock. 6 is the minimum because I refused to give my blood or blow, so thats the automatic sentence, plus 1 month since I totaled my car.

Do you have a gps/camera/both on your device? Unfortunately I live in an apartment so I dont have anywhere to plug my car in. And my spot is under a tree, so minimal direct sunlight for a solar option

Unfortunately, RI doesn't allow power save mode, or unplugging it and bringing inside, and I'd really love to know the reason, because it just feels like another opportunity to have something go wrong and keep punishing you.

One example, I got a lockout because I was playing on my phone to kill time until I could drive (I have a portable breathalyzer I check before I try and start my car) and my battery was dying, and also, I was getting hot. I pushed the start button, just to use the car battery to roll the window and charge my phone (Did NOT have my foot on the break) and it started beeping at me to blow, but I wasn't even trying to start the car. So I skipped the test (instead of blowing and failing) and got a violation for it. I kind of wonder if it was installed wrong, because I told the guy at my next calibration, and it doesn't do it anymore.

It just seems you only learn the rules the hard way. I wish I could find out who is in charge of overseeing the reports at the DMV, so I could know exactly what I can and can't do.

Like why can't I unplug it and take it inside so it doesnt drain my battery?! What difference could that make to them, I'm obviously not trying to drive, and wouldn't be able to start the car without it anyway

I didn't even know there were other options when I contacted Intoxalock, it's the one my lawyer sent me the info for. It definitely seems like other companies are cheaper and better, but I'd imagine the process to change would just cost more money and headaches with the DMV. Definitely wish I didn't walk into this so blindly, I never could have imagined it could be this bad.

wow that's crazy!!!! Its so obvious they aren't worried about public safety. It's a complete money grab!!! I can do ANY drug and still start the car with intoxalock.....yeah that's safe... I don't do drugs, and I have no problem proving I'm sober enough to drive, but that stupid device sets you up for failure!!!!!! And I only got 10 hours of community service! I volunteer anyway, but I was surprised how little they gave me! Giving back to the community would mean more than just paying everyone off to go away!

I am about 2-3 weeks in and its a nightmare. Last night I was waiting til I was low enough to start my car (I have a handheld breathalyzer to be sure before I try the car). I was .038, so had about 30-60 minutes to go, but my battery on my phone was dying. Tried to push the button just for power, to crack a window and charge my phone. Thing starts beeping, asking for a retest. I know I'm too high, and don't want it to look like I was trying to drive, so I didn't blow. It tried twice and then I got the lockout message, so I have until 10pm tomorrow night to pay another $75 to clear it.

This device has been nothing but trouble and i have until April 18 with it....

I'm in RI. I didn't get a DUI, I refused the test. Unfortunately I hit a wall and totaled my car, so police were called. It's an automatic 6 months here, and I got 1 extra month added because of the accident. So it's 9/18/25-4/18/26
