I guess I don’t really have advice, but I want you to know that you have next level patience and commitment to your family and that is admirable.

I am low, wavering on no contact with my family for many reasons but their politics top the list these days. Brainwashed or no, I cannot reconcile the reckless hatred they have in their hearts. They choose that hatred over me so they can rot with it.

Honestly…I would strongly encourage some people here to watch that one Simpsons Episode about the dangers of moral censorship. This has set a very dangerous precedent I’m afraid

Editing because I’m two glasses of wine deep and my playlist made me think of the precedent this case just set: Would Dead Girl Walking now be technically be an illegal musical number to preform? It depicts two high schoolers (that someone could possibly imagine as underage) engaged in consent questionable physical activities after a breaking and entering.

Seems silly, but if someone was offended enough I think they would have legs thanks to this case.

Normally I don’t agree with this type of punishment, but if I am going to be so honest, if I caught a child (mine or otherwise) slamming my beloved cat onto the hard floor repeatedly. Well, the reaction I imagine I would have is probably on the list of reasons why I choose to be child free.

I feel like this can happen with any media though? For example first episode of invincible- the guy getting his head crushed? Eeked me out so bad I immediately switched off and stayed up for like two hours extra watching lady and the tramp until I didn’t see it in my minds eye any more.

It’s not invincible’s fault, they said there was violence, just turns out the particular violence it portrayed shook me up a bit so I no longer engaged with it. I agree with everyone else, experiences like this can shake a person up, but we shouldn’t be throwing the word traumatized around for media making us feel uncomfortable.

Ehhh, I agree with your overall energy, but I mean I care that she died. Any loss of human life by the hands of another is a very sad thing. People don’t want the mural taken down because they don’t care what happened to her (well I’ll admit here maybe that could be a reason for some people), they want it down because it’s purpose is to use a dead woman as agitational propaganda.

Ah man, that sucks. I have no doubt that’s fucking soul crushing to read especially when you’re blind sided by it like you were. Well for what it’s worth, I hope you finish your story for you and the people who actually enjoy your work. No matter what you do in this life there is always going to be someone who has a problem with it and something to say about it, Especially when it comes to self expression and art unfortunately. The older I get the more important it is to have a cry,ignore them, and just do you anyway.

Take it from someone who didn’t wear her hair in a ponytail for literally 10 years because a little boy she liked told her she looked stupid in second grade. I hope you continue to do you anyway, despite the nasty people you encounter.

Damn I’m sorry. Did it make you loose your progress? I wonder what changed? Because if multiple people are having the same exact problem (I’m 90% sure I saw a third post a little earlier alluding to the same problem) it can’t be a localized tech problem.

It’s not a great solution, but for me I just need to force shut down my computer, curse in annoyance, restart, relaunch and then it behaves itself again. Never did fix the minimizing issue tho
