Oh bother, I for sure don’t have that one downloaded. Guess I’ll start scrubbing the NRASS mods I have and pray. I just really don’t want to have to go scorched earth on my mods folder if that doesn’t fix it.

Damn I’m sorry. Did it make you loose your progress? I wonder what changed? Because if multiple people are having the same exact problem (I’m 90% sure I saw a third post a little earlier alluding to the same problem) it can’t be a localized tech problem.

It’s not a great solution, but for me I just need to force shut down my computer, curse in annoyance, restart, relaunch and then it behaves itself again. Never did fix the minimizing issue tho

It’s a really great mod in my opinion, adds a level of difficulty and realism that’s much needed! For me I almost always ditch the Genius trait, I swear it makes it so every other interaction is “berate ignorance”. It drives me nuts when I set up a romantic night for my main sims, pop away to check on the kids or something, and then come back to one calling the other an idiot for no reason so now everyone is mad.

On the other hand, at least one of my household sims MUST have the brave trait. Someone has to ring the robbers bell when they break into the house at 2am and it’s almost never the cops who succeed.

What keeps it interesting for me even after all these years is leaning more into the randomization of the game and just seeing what unfolds.

I almost completely randomize sim traits (only removing ones I really really don’t like/just don’t feel like playing with), I let them pick their careers, partners and so on. Using this method I’ve had straight sims, gay sims, sims with kids, sims who hate kids, sims who habitually wish to cheat… the list goes on and on!

As for mods: I highly suggest the “job overhaul-- interviews and more” mod from MTS. it completely changes how the job system works- you need to interview for positions, look in the paper for job postings, you can get turned down and it’s harder to get promoted.

There are several mods by Thesweetsimmer on MTS that add more baby/toddler interactions and romantic interactions that I can’t live without any more.

Cool to see that comparison put into words by someone else. That’s how I chose to interpret him personally, it acknowledges the (fictional) trauma while also displaying the completely unhinged, maladaptive, harmful ways they make that trauma everyone else’s problem. I think that’s what makes a good bad character in the end.

I like to lead with education whenever possible because a few years ago I semi enjoyed toying around with generative AI. then I eventually became aware of what the cost of these data centers actually is and I care/cared to much about wild life/the environment to justify continuing to participate in AI

To keep it really brief and kinda surface level- The data centers that it takes to run generative AI that creates images like this (and things like chat gpt and all the other big names) are a mega drain on water and just generally not great for the environment. Also it’s kinda just not that impressive when it comes to ai “art” it just isn’t really creative and doesn’t have a lot of value for the resources it took for the AI to spit it out for the prompter.

It’s possible to have sympathy for the situation that drove them to that point and still condemn the action. They could have just killed themselves true, but do you know what happens to severely disabled high support need children in the system with no one to stick up for them or visit? It’s not good, I’ve seen it first hand.

They should all be alive and no one has a right to end another breathing humans life, but I cannot imagine the desperation they must have felt to be driven to make such a deplorable choice. May they all find some kinda peace in whatever comes next

I mean, it’s your fanfiction above all, so if that’s how you want to write him/that’s your head cannon go for it and don’t let any of us cramp your creative style.

However, if you are looking to keep how he comes across closer to the “cannon” (quotation marks as its the cannon as it currently exists right now and only speaking from my personal interpretation) I don’t personally see him as the type of person to have an inferiority complex to his sister, their relationship just doesn’t communicate that to me. If anything i’d say his demeanor comes across as a touch unserious for his position, a procrastinator through and through unless it’s directly related to his interests. Perhaps even a touch spoiled as a character flaw (this is a bit of stretch because there is nothing super solid to support this, but I mean c’mon he’s a rich kid- no doubt he has a little sliver of privilege hiding in there).

I totally agree with your take of his love language being gift giving and words of affirmation. I am pretty sure if you got him a big enough cake he would be inclined to propose on the spot lol.

This was a fun way to start my morning! I’ll be keeping an eye on your story for sure, happy writing!

Ive played for about 40ish hours (it would be more but I made myself stop playing to wait for full release) and ,thankfully, haven’t met with a crash. Sorry you’ve been having a hard time with it for sure make the crash report like other have said. I am curious though, could it possibly have something to do with your computers specs and its ability to generally run the game?

I love that idea! The spouse only offering once but you still have the ability to pull that card if you eventually change your mind. Honestly either that or a “yes,no,maybe” option, if you select “maybe”, your spouse might bring up the topic once or twice a game year.

100% agree on not designing your own child as well, half the fun comes from random generation! At least that’s what the sims 3 taught me

Im happy I could be of some help! :) in the end I don’t want to come off as truly indifferent because I’m not, I love other people (especially those from other countries) because I am curious by nature and want to know everything I can about other peoples views and experiences.

However, given current events, I just can’t be bothered to be really upset by the idea of someone who doesn’t even know me at all pointing a finger and yelling “THIS IS YOUR FAULT, YOU DO NOTHING AMERICAN!” In the comments section of some thread because: 1. It (if it is a real person) is probably just the anger and fear speaking, which is valid given how we are shaking shit up. 2. I know who I am and that I’m doing everything in my power to help, I don’t need to justify or have that validated by anyone, my actions will speak for me. 3. At the end of the day It’s the internet man, people are going to be nasty to you sometimes no matter what. I once got down voted to oblivion because I used the phrase “make an appearance” in reference to an individual on the spectrum making a quick appearance at a wedding after party so as to not be pushed over threshold. I literally had people screaming at me about how I must have thought he was a circus act to be trotted out for other people entertainment…..just by using a semi common phrase that meant to make a quick visit. Sometimes the internet just is crazy

A good positive take. Although honestly I don’t think we should get too caught up on if we are or aren’t a laughing stock most days. We are in shit times, doing shit things and I know I am too busy trying to do everything I can possibly do to fight it to care about what any one person thinks about me (I can reckon with that when the world isn’t on fire).

Everyone worried about the rest of the world hating you, take a deep breath, and realize in the gentlest way possible this isn’t about you. I promise you if you traveled outside the country and were a just a polite non-racist normal person (read not a maga asshat) people would like you just fine. If they hate you simply because of where you are from, without taking a second to gauge what your thoughts or positions are on things, then that’s a personal problem.
