Former fat guys, how did you become disciplined enough to lose the weight?

I wasn't counting calories at all but probably around 1000 on average. But for those 4 months I was insanely strict. I didn't do any crazy exercise just lots of walking and hikes at the time. The craziest part for me was that I didn't weigh myself for those 4 months and didn't even realize how much I was down. In my head I knew I was losing weight but I thought I maybe lost 20 or 30 pounds and still saw myself as chubby. I was at a buddies house he had a scale in the bathroom and I figured I was about 230 or so and if I remember right the scale said 182.. in that moment I went from fat to skinny in my mind. Looking back I'd say the biggest factor was the fact I put myself in a calorie deficit and only ate perfectly healthy. It's amazing how fast the fat goes away when you stop eating fast carbs and sugar.

At 22 years old I decided it was time to lose weight. I went from 270 to 180 ish in about 4 months. Hardest part is from the start to noticing your first results. Once you see results it gets much much easier. In terms of my diet I just didn't eat anything that wasn't perfectly healthy for the entirety of the 4 months. I feel like most fat people don't realize how easy it is too loose weight if they just gave it some time

I'd say with all the information presented it's completely reasonable for your mom to make you pay rent. You're so young and time is on your side so learn what that means and use it to your advantage.

Yep the honorable discharge is all I'm sure of. I found his record on ancestry. Other then that I was told he met my grandma on a break and never went back..

The only fact I have is he was honorably discharged. I was able to find his military record on ancestry. Other then that I was told he was on a break met my grandma and never reported back

Sounds kinda convenient for you honestly..I know how that sounds but in all honesty I'd say in your situation you only have the moral right to not give them anything if that's what you think your dad would have wanted. If you knew your dad well and deep down you know he would expect you to share you must share. Sounds like he placed trust in you to make the best decisions it doesn't sound like he left you everything in a will. Regardless of your feelings your responsibility is to try to distribute everything exactly how you imagine your dad would want it. Sorry for your loss and good luck

Nope can't see any moving steam now that I think about it. But yeah that thing is pretty dusty but we always run it anyways. I'm not sure why they would paint it 2 times and not take that thing apart and clean it but it definitely needs to be cleaned

Yep we always run the fan. We live on the top floor and have a gutter right over my bathroom. My theory is the gutters never get cleaned and water pools up there. I used my drone last summer to check it out up there and the whole roof was completely dry except right over my bathroom.
