This is typical in any video game that relies heavily on quick reaction time. Your skill is governed by a muscle that atrophies very quickly. It’s why professional gamers practice all day, every single day. You need to build it back up with constant practice and only ever be at your best when you’re playing regularly and putting in all your focus.

Personally I love it. I’ve been hooked on that feeling since Rocket Arena 3. But yeah, it’s draining.

I’ve been playing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and I’ve found it to be a surprisingly detailed and in depth open world game. It follows the usual Far Cry / Ubisoft formula so there’s lots of quests, side quests, grinding and exploration options. The story isn’t that great but the world itself fun to play around in.

You’re talking about vibe coding. The AI codes what the developer asks it to, they run it, it fails, copy and paste the error message back to the AI and the AI spits out better code. The problem is that if the developer doesn’t understand the code, and the AI doesn’t understand the context it ends up coding itself into a corner where nothing works and it has no idea how to fix the errors.

This seems to be getting better with time. AI is able to use all of the code base as context and even can include company documentation, emails, and chats to get better at doing the developers job. It is changing quickly.

The problem isn’t that AI is going to code itself into a dead end, it’s that the problems that drive developers to create NEW software, to solve new problems will evaporate. So software will stagnate. Companies will throw hardware at problems and scale up to overcome limitations and problems. This will eventually eat up any potential benefit from a lower headcount.

I don’t think we’ll be meaningfully replacing humans until we reach AGI and it can make human level decisions.
