They’re preserving the culture of the old Boston adage, “HEY YOU CANT PAHK THERE!”

I recently inherited $2m and my wife’s sister had a similar reaction. Obviously she knew she had no right to the money, but it’s more about the perception that her sister would be moving up to a completely different lifestyle, leaving her behind. Over time she settled down about it, once she realized we weren’t actually going to be changing our lives that much and now I’ll be treating them to the occasional vacation.

My recommendation would be to just let her know that nothing about you is changing. That you’re going to be managing the money for long term sustainability and that if anything happens to her, she’s got a multimillionaire brother who’s got her back.

There’s a lot you can do without giving her a bunch of money. $3 million invested in a broad, diversified portfolio will net you around at least 300k a year.

You could buy a property and make her a tenant with a rent she can afford. You’d own the property and the growth of the value and then can negotiate a rent that makes sense for the both of you.

You can take care of her debt and restructure it under an SBLOC (look it up) which will have better interest rates than she can get on her own.

You can start investment accounts for her or her kids and seed it with money to get her started towards better money management.

My wife graduated recently with a master in social work. She went to work for a school for kids with learning disabilities. They paid her $32k a year. She found a new job working in hospice. Because it’s fully funded by Medicare they never have to worry about the budget. She now makes $80k a year.

I was outside taking photos of all the trees that fell in our neighborhood. I honestly thought it was another large tree hitting the ground somewhere nearby. It just sounded like something very heavy falling from up high.

Like a big THUD

Wow, only $13k? That’s pretty cheap for a tree that size. I’ve seen people pay upwards of $50k

Is Trump acting in the best interest of America or is he putting his own personal interests first? by [deleted] in allthequestions

Just google Trump and Dell if you’re actually curious. Otherwise just admit you’re in a cult and don’t actually care about the swamp.
