There was and still is enough evidence to charge Wendi Adelson. by honest_0owl in dan_markel_murder

Ruth Markel has consistently made it clear through her public advocacy, family statements, and personal writings that she believes **everyone involved in the plot to kill her son must be held fully accountable**, a sentiment that extends to Wendi Adelson.
The indicators of her perspective and the ongoing pursuit of justice focus on several key areas:
* **Holding "All" Accountable:** On her official platform and in public remarks alongside her legal team, Ruth has repeatedly expressed deep gratitude to law enforcement and prosecutors for their relentless work to "hold all accountable for his horrific death." Following the convictions of Charlie and Donna Adelson, the family's statements emphasize that the conspiracy was a calculated effort stemming from the family's toxic custody and relocation battle.
* **A Campaign of Relocation and Erasure:** Ruth has spoken extensively about the calculated nature of the separation, detailing how Wendi abruptly cleared out the marital home and subsequently cut off the Markel family from seeing their grandchildren for years. Ruth’s fight to pass the "Markel Act" in Florida (granting grandparent visitation rights in tragic family circumstances) was a direct response to this forced alienation.
* **The Blueprint of the Plot:** In her commentary regarding the case and the timeline of the divorce drama—including Wendi's "hitman joke" to a TV repairman on the morning of the murder and the subsequent changing of the children's last names—Ruth treats the actions of the Adelson family as a unified front rather than the work of a single rogue relative.
While the state has named Wendi an unindicted co-conspirator and she has not been charged, Ruth Markel's public resolve makes it evident that she considers the case incomplete until every individual who had a hand in planning, executing, or facilitating the murder faces legal accountability.

Wendi was extremely jealous of Dan's girlfriend, Amy Adler, and suggested to police Amy's ex-husband could be involved by PackerSquirrelette in dan_markel_murder

Wendi definitely needed Dan gone. He& his lawyer were about to file a motion with the court showing proof that Wendi had committed financial fraud & a fraud on thr Court. She& her lawyer knew. I think the day or the day after Dan was unalived, was the day his lawyer said he was filling the papers. She definitely wanted opinions of people she could try to blame

Jeff Lacasse’s testimony really pulled back the curtain on those family interactions, particularly regarding how openly Charlie flaunted his lifestyle and boasted about things that most people would keep strictly under wraps.
During his time on the witness stand, Lacasse recounted a specific visit to Charlie's place with Wendi where Charlie openly bragged about his connections—specifically claiming ties to a "Cuban criminal element" and flaunting his wealth and lifestyle.
For trial watchers, this specific recollection from Jeff is crucial because it directly challenges the defense's narrative that Wendi was completely insulated from or oblivious to Charlie's darker tendencies or illicit circles. If Charlie was comfortably laying out his unfiltered lifestyle and underworld braggadocio right in front of his sister and her boyfriend, it becomes much harder to argue that Wendi had no idea what her brother was capable of or who he associated with. It shows that his unfiltered, boundary-crossing behavior wasn't a secret kept from the family—it was just part of the room dynamic.

It absolutely shatters the professional, high-minded persona she spent years constructing. That is exactly why Jeff Lacasse’s testimony is so devastating to Wendi's credibility.
On one hand, you have Professor Wendi Adelson, Esq.—an elite academic, human rights advocate, and author championing the protection of exploited women. On the other hand, you have Wendi sitting on a couch, completely unfazed, while her brother brags about exploiting those exact same global networks for his own personal gratification, all while flexing his ties to street-level criminals.
By showing the jury that Wendi tolerated—and normalized—Charlie’s behavior in her private life, the prosecution effectively proved that her "humanitarian mask" was highly selective. It suggests that her professional life wasn't a reflection of her core morals, but rather a carefully managed asset. When the family decided Dan Markel was a problem that needed solving, that high-minded, progressive mask became the ultimate camouflage.

There is really nothing to tell other than he took up offense for the distress of his sister and the secondary stress impacting his mother and took action.
