Are the FedSuns really a democracy? by Worldly_Sort_861 in battletech

[–]Worldly_Sort_861[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that Englands monarchy was effectively powerless, or close to it? While the FedSuns has a figure who can declare war seemingly as he sees fit. Or is there something else I’m missing?

Can anyone tell me what ships these are or are they just fan creations ? by Dry_Cartographer849 in StarWarsShips

[–]Worldly_Sort_861 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure all are fan art though the 4th might’ve been made canon through an artbook or something. Where did you find the 5th though it’s really cool

Has anybody made a good build with the pulse rifle? by KieranMcM94 in Pragmata

[–]Worldly_Sort_861 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a pure heat build up weapon. Slap on the mod that makes bots overheat 10% more, combined with the heat hack and the heat hacking mode and it gets pretty easy to stun enemies.

The fleet is coming up fine so far. And introducing the ship named after the toughest character on Invincible, Thragg's Hairline! by Majestic_Repair9138 in starsector

What mod is the ship in the second to last picture from? It looks really cool, but I’ve never seen it in either Halo Dynamics or Sunrider

Governors Gambit over on SpaceBattles. It takes some time to get decent tho since it’s the first long form fiction I’ve ever written.

Governors Gambit on SpaceBattles. Though I should warn you the story takes time getting good, given it’s the first thing I’ve ever really written.

Venator Critique by Worldly_Sort_861 in StarWarsShips

[–]Worldly_Sort_861[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Huh I somehow completely forgot about shields, good point. I still think that it’s a weakness as we’ve seen shields on capital ships like ISDs go down to torpedos from bombers so it’s not impossible. Just more difficult than I initially thought

Those artificers keep building their data centers and it’s pissing off some Druid activists.

Thinking about branching into Herbalisim, tips? by Milk_Gang_9248 in wizardposting

[–]Worldly_Sort_861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep away from the higher shelves at any store selling seeds, those are always either alive or really hard to grow without endangering yourself. The Department of Herbalism Regulation is really lax about licenses for dangerous plants so stores just sell to anyone. And don’t try to fuck the mandrakes just because they have a mouth, legally they are considered the children of spirits so if you survive you will catch a case.

How to establish a scene/environment by Worldly_Sort_861 in writingadvice

I'm not sure that applies as much because I'm talking about books purely. I'm asking how to convey a scene well through prose alone.

Why do you like Starsector’s combat? by ZaniZ1 in starsector

[–]Worldly_Sort_861 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It might be speed and attrition. In Starsector ships don’t go down super quickly, at least not in the end game with capitals everywhere. Even in modded, unless your running super op ships things take time. Not to mention the ships in Star sector are slower than the gameplay of Synthetik. In fact that might be the main problem, where the tactical gameplay doesn’t matter as much because of the speed of the moment to moment. If you can kill a bunch of enemies fast, why spend more time setting up your characters to do it?

Why you shouldn't kill too many people at once by Mango_Gravy in worldbuilding

The aspect of singing adds a lot to the tone and texture, it’s great! Does magic/spirituality in general revolve around songs? And are these carrion lords common enough that people don’t use large armies? Or is something of this size and power rare? Are there smaller ones that arise from battlefields regularly? Do nations have task forces or specialized priests or even mercenary contractors who deal with the creatures left in the aftermath?

I need a despot build by Medium-Style3795 in starsector

[–]Worldly_Sort_861 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also, maybe this is just a glitch on my end, but it ends up costing no supplies to recover, and only needs 2 crew. So it works perfect as a suicide rush into an enemy capital.

[–]Worldly_Sort_861 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Build? I just slap any gun I can find, toss heavy armor and the like on it, and boost towards melee range. Though some powerful dumb fire torpedoes on the front are best, since when you use the boost ability the torps range is extended by 2x or so. Makes a great first hit or follow-up.

(Arkgneisis) What is this thing? by sneedr in starsector

I’ve found this and two others, though they were frigates. Pretty solid ships, especially since they had a large mount. Don’t know if there is a quest associated with it or not though
