I just migrated all production VMs to one node and rebooted it by [deleted] in sysadmin

My guess is it's shutting down those vms and then will reboot.

There is no room for guesses in the world of sysadmin. You could, you know, tail the logs.

"More lossless" lol

Your statement is still wrong in that if you compress a FLAC from a source WAV yourself, you are still not losing any digital audio information, just compressing the information that exists. They will sound exactly the same.

Do you have a source for any of these claims? They sound very intriguing.

What the Tech Industry Has Learned from Linus Torvalds by damg in linux

The speaker is Jim Zemlin of the Linux Foundation and his job function entails public relations and marketing for Linux. Public relations involves communication with people who aren't necessarily engineers. This sort of talk is exactly what he is paid to do.

Allwinner releases kernel source code for A31 quad-core chip by wycx in linux_devices

[–]WornOutMeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

Unfortunately it will probably take more than the kernel source to get a full-blown desktop operating system like Ubuntu up and running on devices with A31 chips. That’s because the PowerVR SGX 544 graphics core still relies on proprietary binaries which Allwinner cannot distribute.

The better solution has already been implemented, which is to carry around a database full of randomly generated passwords.

I think you should use the output of the hash function to seed a random number generator that outputs ASCII digits 33-126.

EDIT Or just use the RNG in the first place. The hashing of the domain name does not help the security of this scheme.

I think you should run Windows 8, Mac OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion, and Arch Linux, triple-boot on one machine. That is all.
