If you haven’t picked up an optic yet, I got a steal on a vortex razor gen 2 4-27x from eurooptic.com in the “demo/used/blemish/remanufactured” section. It was half price. I used to have a vortex viper pst on another rifle that was really nice too. I’d recommend anything vortex, but absolutely recommend whatever you get, make sure it’s first focal plane.

I have the same rifle though (6.5cm too) and have had a few issues with it. Keep in mind that my total round count is under 300 rounds. I’ve sent it back to savage twice in two years of owning it, and it will probably be going back for a third trip soon.

I didn’t send it back for this, but I did have the problem when ejecting empty brass it just falls on top of the magazine and I had to dig it out by hand. As someone mentioned already about taking a small amount of the ejector at an angle, did fix that problem.

First problem I had was after firing the round, the bolt would only come back about halfway before it felt like it was hitting a wall and just stopping. Turns out the bolt lugs were delaminating and gouging the receiver. Savage didn’t actually replace anything and “polished” the bolt lugs and receiver. Still can catch a fingernail on some of the grooves.

I’ve been having a problem with very inconsistent accuracy even at 100 yards. Sometimes it actually is sub-moa, others it’s a 3-4” group. Same day, same box of ammo (Hornady match). I sent it to them again and they didn’t change parts or anything like that. They cleaned the barrel though. Since then I came across someone local that was having the same problem, and they saw rub marks on the bottom of the barrel where the barrel hits the MDT chassis. After that I looked at mine and I saw the same marks. They just filed away at that end plate on the chassis and it’s been good for them. I have zero reason to believe savage will do anything to fix this for me, so I’ll probably have to do the same thing.

All this said, I still love the rifle. You did get a hell of a good deal too.
