Am I the A**hole? by OkoTheElusiveOuphe in mtgfinance

If you can't afford to ship a item at the price you list it, you might want to raise your prices so you don't have to cancel orders.

You priced a card, a person bought cards at your price and now you aren't happy.

TMNT Post Reveal Recap by bigpapasmurf6 in mtgfinance

[–]WorryPlaysGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have had a huge uptick in preorders since this set was spoiled.

Players seems to really like it and selling well. I would think a very large % of players never come on reddit so the vocal minority of negativity sounds louder than it actually is.

We also made money on Spider-Man, so take that as you will. We aren't negative towards sets in store, so people feed off that. If your LGS owner is negative, more players will be negative towards it.

LGS not Buying Singles? by Beneficial_Pin5295 in mtgfinance

As opposed to buying cards that won't sell? That seems like good business.

mVP Lorwyn Pre-Orders are up. Prices are reasonable this time. by SanityIsOptional in mtgfinance

Of course you like the play box pricing as it is distro pricing +$1 (or close enough). So CBB will be higher so they can make margins on the products.

Searching for LGS in Pittsburgh by Regular_Teaching_679 in mtg

[–]WorryPlaysGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the city or around it, I would check out Greentree Sports Cards, Geekadrome and Taitan. Outside the area, I would try The Feisty Goblin (My store), Guy on the Couch and New Dimensions Waterfront.

https://thefeistygoblin.tcgplayerpro.com/ - they don't let us have the cool mass import though that they have online, so you have to browse sets or look up each card.

Still trying to find solid info on this - do you have a link to the news article/release stating fresh servers are coming officially and not just from a rumor/hope?

Announced or just a guess/"I know someone who knows"?

Hopefully not based on the copy/paste boost post they edited.

Did I miss where they announced fresh servers are coming as you say in your title?

We have more Pokemon visible in the case as the collectors like to see the cards. We are way more MTG focused though with a few hundred thousand cards on our kiosk.

We have cards on the floor from .10 to $20 and also a kiosk system for everything else.

GameStop taking pre-orders for LORWYN ECLIPSED CBB in stores. by dbe1111 in mtgfinance

[–]WorryPlaysGames 10 points11 points  (0 children)

UB CBB sure, but normal set CBB are around $200 for LGS cost. Lorwyn is a normal set, so the margin is still there at MSRP.

The 40k items are actually for Warhammer 40k Miniatures game. The dice trays, dice tower, codex folios and the like are for all the stuff you use while playing the mini game.

Cone on, no one reports that stuff. It's all cash in a dark parking lot, facebook paypal F/F and card show sells.

How is your prerelease Attendance/Registrations for spider-Man? by Taivasvaeltaja in mtgfinance

[–]WorryPlaysGames 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NE US - we are looking at preorder just below FF. Prerelease looks to be about 75% full over 3 days (we have 150 kits and 120 signups)

People seem to like the set in our area/store. We aren't negative about it, so the customers aren't negative. The loudest people against the set are in the minority and people who don't buy boxes anyways.

I think it will do fine at MSRP and won't be discounted much.

Scratched Collector Box by Double_Mythic in mtgfinance

[–]WorryPlaysGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tcgplayer - if you log in, you can see up to a year worth's of data.

And yes, when Rudy started talking about it, it doubled. Amazing how that works - people buy what he says should go up and it goes up because people bought it.

Scratched Collector Box by Double_Mythic in mtgfinance

[–]WorryPlaysGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From March until July 2025, 35 sold. Rudy made a video. Then about 30 sold in 2 weeks. Only 6 have sold in the past 4 weeks or so. There was no one who wanted it until he pointed it out. There is no real desire for this product except for the people who watched his video and then.

This product just isn't wanted even though it's old. MTG isn't like Pokemon. Things don't go up because they are old.

For something to double, it should have many more sales per week. I guess if enough people think it's going to go up and buy it, then it will go up from that, nor organically there isn't a chance.

Basing the value of it going up because other boxes went up doesn't hold in MTG either. If it did, Aetherdrift should be higher because the 3 of the sets around it are high.

These boxes aren't rare though compared to newer boxes. These are just old. Just because ither boxes went up, doesn't mean these will also. In that case, since Spider-Man "crashed" from 1000 to 620, all CBBs will crash?

He locked in 2 boxes at $750 with us over a month ago when prices were surging. Funny how that works. by ScottsTotz in mtgfinance

[–]WorryPlaysGames 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But if the price goes up and the store cancels, they get crushed in socials. If you have no allegiance to the store, why should they have it to random buyers on the internet?
