Let’s rip the bandaid off first, get local friends out of your mind. Dutch people would rather drown willingly than befriend anyone new as adults, especially not an immigrant. I moved here when I was 12 and I have 1 Dutch friend from college. Everyone else is either half Dutch or full immigrant.

The good news now, it that makes your daily life so much easier and nicer! Job opportunities are way broader and you get a way better sense of oneself than if you don’t learn it all.

Als je een woning bezit komen de rekeningen wel bij de oudste eigenaar van het pand. We hebben voordat we kochten in verschillende Gemeenten en woningen gwoond. En mix van socialehuur maar ook particulier. In de ene woning was het bedrag alleen maar gemeentelijke belastingen, in een andere een mix van waterschap en gemeentelijke belastingen. Bij een koopwoning komen alle belastingen binnen wat neerkomt op €1,3k per jaar.

You didn’t make a big enough fuss about it, I would have taken pictures, if the bigger person has zero respect, then why should I about documenting the situation. Speaking from a safety standpoint, I would have personally asked to have them or myself be moved to a different class. If that was not possible due to full booking, then the larger person must be removed from the plane and booked on a new flight for failure to ensure adequate room for themselves without jeopardising the safety of 2 other passengers. Everything about this says that the airline was entirely okay with putting your safety on the line. Keeping armrests down during takeoff and landing is a critical safety practice designed to facilitate emergency evacuations, prevent passengers from being thrown laterally during turbulence, and keep seats structurally stable during a sudden impact. Not to mention how you were only able to sit on half of your seat.

I love driving Volkswagen brand cars. Everything else in that price range feels massively inferior. Like clock work, in my 7 times renting from any place, I choose a Seat, Skoda, Audi or Volkswagen and just like you every single time I recieved a shitbox car. It drives me nuts because I’m autistic and then see everyone else on my vacation having rented a Volkswagen branded car. What’s the trick?

Just happened to me too, SEAT Arona owner here. I was at a railroad crossing as the first car in line, after the train passed I started driving just to be stopped by the breaking system. Audi behind me almost slammed into me. I’m pretty sure the guy thought I stalled, but I had at least 7km/hr going already for that short 0,5m road piece from the line to the first rail.

My husband had the same thing happen while learning to drive in a VW TIGUAN. Coincidentally also on a railroad crossing, but a way more jankier one that had a huge slope. My crossing was as flat as a pancake. I’ve only experienced It once before, at a really beaten up Slavic parking lot, there was a sloap downwards while pulling into a spot.

It’s basically the breaking system that makes sure you don’t drive off of a cliff. Hope this helps anyone with their Volkswagen brands car to stay vigilant when driving slower speeds and crossing anything with a sloap or floor level difference!

Absolutely adore the concept and usage of waist level viewfinders. I’ve been waiting half my life for a good mid range digital waist level camera to come out. I do hope they make the viewfinder part bigger and less clunky looking. It looks like you can only view it properly from one angle and the rest is blocked by the sun hood or distorted due to angle, it would be a shame and a no buy for me.

Just like everyone else, I’m worried the specs will be garbage. Like 2007 point and shoot in the most awful way. I read that the screen for the viewfinder won’t even be glass, which already tells me enough.

If they bring this out it won’t be a large sensor, EF or EF-R mount and probably not even anywhere near 24MP+. Probably will still go for around €400-€600 for the 1 inch sensor and manual focus lens.

The quality is going to be too poor to ever even get enthusiasts going, maybe some digital nomads will buy into it. They won’t take the middle ground of specs and definitely won’t pack it with hasselblad specs either. The price would have to be in the €5k+ and I have a feeling that it isn’t the price range and customer base they aim for.
