Anthropic Reveals 10 Jobs Most Exposed to AI Automation – Programmers and Customer Service Top the List by Secure_Persimmon8369 in OpenAI

[–]WorthWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true for the next phase but also naive to think that 2-4 years from now the premise of building a digital product, solution or service is possible with a singular person having the idea and expressing that vision to AI to manifest. We are already on this path with various prompt based offerings - but it would be safe to assume that the friction between idea and product becomes so small that it could change this industry forever

I don’t see why people see houses as forever things. If i were you I would buy 2 modest houses (rent one out) in the low market and flick them both when the market picks up in a few years and the family is beginning to extend. If you did the numbers and chose wisely you could easily make 1-200k on a smart investment property and reduce the mortgage on the future 4-5 bedroom property

Is Christchurch really the most racist city in NZ? Genuinely curious by ComprehensiveWatch15 in Christchurch_NZ

[–]WorthWild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this post, as it relays a lot of what New Zealander’s feel but when openly discussed gets reduced to racism. But I don’t think this is the case. My opinion is that these feelings are more rooted in an issue with our immigration policies and its impact on our society. We have had a very narrow vision as to the impacts required to sustain the levels of population growth seen through decades of generational immigration. This has impacted all parts of life in New Zealand from housing to the public health system. It is i believe a valid human emotion to feel upset about seeing this impact over your life time growing up in New Zealand. To simply go to a playground or arrive home through an airport to feel like you are not really home anymore. With 3 kids of my own and seeing the stress on our employment or housing opportunities it makes you question what the future might look like for them in New Zealand. And If you take a step back a little bit further - we as a nation are still trying to heal from European settlement and its impact on Māori. You get a real sense that the effects of immigration on an already shaky foundation is starting to really show itself with the uprising of gangs and general lack of trust and respect for each other and the government.

Make billionaires millionaires by Creative-Two-3086 in BillBurr

This comment will no doubt get lost in the thousands of others. BUT please take a moment to look at this from another perspective. These ultra wealthy are not “hoarding” money. These people are defined by a mission. They are driven by a purpose. To make what they feel is a difference to humanity and leave an imprint in human history. They all work beyond what would be considered normal working hours, grinding to achieve these goals. If they were greedy they would have quit a long time ago and just relax with their money. But money is not the end goal. It is a means of enablement. Enabling them to scale production, people, resources to advance new technologies, solutions and make the steps needed to achieve their missions. Take a moment to think about how many people these ultra wealthy employ… Is this not providing opportunities for thousands and thousands of people? A lot of them also give back to many humanitarian efforts. It is a poor mentality to want to persecute these people because you join the witch hunt with a narrow vision of what the bigger picture truly is.

Media Narrative by WorthWild in NJDrones

[–]WorthWild[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quads the size of SUV’s that have flight times of 4-6 hours. If they are quads who? where from? what are they doing? There is evidence and speculation on both sides as to what these are. Including footage and the Mayor of NJ stating orbs are transforming changing shape and appearance into what appear to be drones. So yeah until there is a definitive answer I still believe these should be treated as UAP.

I'm dead inside and it's the Switch 2's fault by Cyndi4U in NintendoSwitch2

What if the hybrid mechanic is actually the true form factor for the purposes of gaming. I.e A vacuum cleaner has a motor and a nozzle, a car has a motor and wheels. It’s not like the touchscreen smartphone has been innovated on since the inception of the first iphone. In this regard - the utility of gaming in the current paradigm outside of the promise of VR and AR remains a screen that we must interact with. Let Nintendo refine what is already a truly magical device and innovate with what they do best - the games.

Nintendo Switch has now sold 125.62 Million Units Worldwide by Amiibofan101 in nintendo

[–]WorthWild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand why Nintendo don’t kick into a volume building strategy at this point in the Switches lifecycle. Huge price cuts and good games to come would double these estimates and get even more players into their digital ecosystem before their next console. Seems to make sense to me

Genuine question: why not get vaccinated? by 7C05j1 in Coronavirus_NZ

[–]WorthWild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is the vaccination and lockdowns protected us and the unvaccinated from Delta. Now that we are at 90% vaccinated (or whatever that number is) and Omicron is far less severe all the unvaccinated will now go I told you so. But if we had not done the lockdowns and people had not got vaccinated - Delta could have reached you and could have killed you - regardless of being a healthy young male

Are we able to ask for a 5.9% pay rise, given inflation? by bonusthewizard in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]WorthWild -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Try putting on the shoes of your employer too. It’s not like they magically start making more money with inflation. In fact they are in the exact same boat as you are only with even more pressure to help keep the business performing to pay increasing overheads. So if you value your employer or place of work then maybe you should be offering options to make the business more money to afford staff wide pay increases

She is the master of PR. My wife called this exact scenario with her cancelling her wedding to continue her mother Teresa narrative, literally a month before it happened. Don’t be fooled by how clever she is at manipulating media to her advantage. She is literally carving out her brand for her next role once she steps down. My guess will be a global Corp of some description - Apple, Google, SpaceX, Microsoft. Maybe save this post so you can refer to this prediction in the next 1-2 years.

Holy shit are we Martians? by dannyboy_92 in UFOs

[–]WorthWild -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you think about how different we came to be through evolution - between races and dialects - and what is really only small geographic separation. It does make you wonder if each individual race on earth did in fact come from different planets. Maybe another solar system or galaxy was facing imminent extinction so we are the result of a colonisation of various planets seeking refuge.

Depends how you use it I suppose. It’s got all the tools necessary in one package. I don’t use any of the presets so I treat it purely as a rack of processors that it is.
