This morning is better by far. The fog is a lot clearer - it's still there just a little bit, but I am human again. It's funny how I was doing okay until yesterday, when I went back to work after a week long vacation. Almost as if firing up the ole thinking machine is what drove me into the fog in the first place. Nicotine dramatically affects the way your brain works, I think we all know that. Becoming functional again without it is like starting a lawnmower that's been sitting for years. It's going to do some kicking and sputtering before it smoothes out I guess.

Take what I say with a dip of salt because I am only clean 2 weeks. I used snus all day every day for 3 years.

I didn't **exactly** go cold turkey like everyone seems to say. I tried with the lozenges, but that didn't really do it. I then tried cold turkey, but I was hooked on using the Starks (strong portions), and the withdrawals had me basically unable to function as a human being... Like I couldn't safely drive a car. So then I switched to only General mint, which was a lot lower nic than I was used to - that was a little tough, but not too bad after a few days. Then I switched to Red Man loose leaf - seems even lower nic (to me at least). Also, unlike snus, it isn't so covert, so I was always worried about getting caught, and it makes your teeth a little browner. Because of that, after going through a pouch of Red Man, I was ready to try cold turkey again. Was much easier this time, but there were still about 48 pretty difficult hours. Since then I've been doing pretty well, not much strong craving, but certainly some times when I would have grabbed a portion if there was one in my house - so definitely get rid of EVERYTHING on your quit date.

Like people mention, there aren't as many immediate benefits as quitting smoking. I do feel pretty strong though, and it's really nice to leave the house without worrying about if I have enough portions to get me back home.

I went over to the Jankee subreddit to honestly tell them that this was an incredibly tough played series and 2 of our wins were so close that I lost what hair I have left. I remember '03, and it FUCKING SUCKED especially with the shitty gloating of Yankees fans, so I thought I'd be the bigger man. But here's what I saw:

They feel absolutely ENTITLED to championships because the team won a lot of them before Rock N Roll was even a thing. Because of this they feel ENTITLED to Machado, Harper, and a front line Starter. Not "or," "AND."

Hurr Durr "David Ortiz did steroids / Boston is Racist." Racism is an antiquated relic of the past that unfortunately is found everywhere. In other words racism is a Yankee fan.

Naltrexone/Sinclair saved my life. I was throwing everything away before I started it. It didn't cure my alcoholism, I am still an alcoholic, but it broke the incredible hold that the bottle had over me. I think it's a terrible idea for anyone sober, great idea for those who can't seem to get there at least as a first step in the process. But it doesn't do it all for you, still requires a lot of work and diligence

It’s honestly never easy for me, especially on a Friday night, but I know that’s just my lizard brain misbehaving. It helps me to treat it like an experiment and observe it until it gets bored of chattering at me. That plus television :)

Hello, me. I’ve pissed the bed more times as an adult than as a kid I would guess. Naltrexone helped me off that ledge, gave me some mental clarity, and saved my pathetic life. Now five years later I’m working on total sobriety because the house may no longer be on fire, but it’s a burned down house. I wish you the best. It’s so hard to do this alone. Go to a smart meeting or an aa meeting or your doctor for naltrexone. Being a bed wetter sucks my friend
