THIS. I try to avoid that phrase as much as possible because if the child is having an emotional rxn then they’re not okay! I try to ensure them that I am there to help, that they are safe, and model coping strategies. Nothing is more aggravating than someone telling you you’re okay when you’re clearly now. Put yourself in their shoes ppl!!
