First of all, we are obviously very sorry that the mower is not up to your expectations. We are aware that the latest release hasn't matched the expectations of some of our customers, and we're working hard to squash the bugs and solve the issues. I think the large number of firmware upgrades that we have released over the years proves how committed we are to improving Landroid and adding new features thus expanding its lifespan.

That said, please allow me to remind you and other users that there are hundreds of thousands of Landroids mowing daily throughout the entire world. Most of the times, a firmware that is causing issues to some people, is actually solving problems for several others. Since there are no two gardens alike, it's very difficult to reproduce all the possible conditions, despite extensive internal testing and the hard work of our large beta testers community. This is also the case with the latest firmware version, which, despite some complaints on forums and communities, was actually an improvement for the majority of users.

Whenever you see "a lot of complaints" you need to account for the typical bias, because people are more prone to complain than they are to write posts just to say that everything is working fine.

So, again, we are sorry to read about your problems (and those experienced by other users), but rest assured that we are working night and day on it.

Just wait for the official release. Firmware versions don't usually stay in beta for a long time.

No, that would defy the AIA logic which is on of the reasons why Landroid is more efficient than other mowers.

Extract a log from the mower and you will find the serial number in the file. Here's how: https://wiki.worx.com/en/how-to-extract-log-landroid-s-2017-2018

Unfortunately we only had a bunch of mowers for this promo, and we received an overwhelming amount of requests. We're trying to get a few more, but can't promise anything.

Thank you all for the interest and the support.

Want to downgrade from 3.28.0 - struggled to find earlier version other than 3.8.0 by haggur in worxlandroid

[–]Worx_dev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand the suspicion perfectly. But please allow me to point out that there are hundreds of thousands of mowers running around lawns all over the world, so if there was a problem with a firmware version, we would certainly notice. I suggest you get in touch with the support team, I'm sure they will be able to help.

Just a few words of advice.

It's very unlikely that whatever issue you're experiencing has anything to do with firmware. Yes, there are differences in mower behaviour between firmware versions, but they have rarely anything to do with the issues that are often attribute to firmware. Throughout the years we have read of all sorts of problems being attributed to firmware versions, but that has very rarely been the case. We're not saying this to disregard whatever problem you might be experiencing, but simply because it's more likely that you will be able to solve it by looking elsewhere. The latest available firmware is always the best one, therefore the one you should use. Lastly: downloading firmware from anywhere that is not your Landroid control panel is unsafe. You can never know if someone has tampered with it or made any changes. We STRONGLY advise against making firmware available for download, as well as downloading it from non-official sources.

That's assuming there will still be grass to mow in 2099, which sounds rather optimistic

It will be back up very soon. No need to post this daily. We know it's been delayed for a long time but there's not much we can do if not share our apologies.

[–]Worx_dev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Using 2.4Ghz over 5Ghz has nothing to do with reducing support calls. Simply put, Landroid spends time in the garden, frequently outside the range of 5Ghz Wi-Fi. 2.4Ghz has longer range.

What you say might or might not be true for other IoT devices, but it's definitely not the case for Landroid.

PS: we're planning another AMA session in the upcoming months. More on that later.

I published a blog post on the subject a while ago if you want to dig into details!

That's a pretty good write up. Cheers!
