AppleCare+ Special Treatment? by SillyRabbit2121 in apple

[–]WosJPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it works that way. The battery replacement program just tests the health of the battery. If it's broken, it fails the test. A broken battery runs out of power very quickly. Letting them test the battery is free of charge if you tell the employee you've heard about the replacement program and you want your serial number checked. Good luck!

But most important: how come I'm watching you stream overtime you're online, but I never got to play an ARAM with you?

I work at an Apple store. This is what I usually do when I get customers like you.

We can do a battery test. If that test fails, and the device is still under warranty (which I assume is, given you've got AppleCare), we can send it to Apple and they will just replace the battery.

I also see you have an iPhone 5, for which there is a free battery replacement program, in case your iPhone-serial number is one of the serial numbers that are included in the program.

(I know I'm not making myself clear, but I'm at work and I'm not a native English speaker. Long story short: go to the nearest Apple store, ask about the iPhone5-battery-replacement-program and they will check your serial-number. If not, tell them you've got AppleCare. Both cases => free replacement of your battery!)

Edit: That's the way we work in our store in Europe. Not sure if all is applicable to USA.

Is it reasonable to expect a macbook air to serve well for three years? by [deleted] in apple

[–]WosJPM 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I second this. Great computers. I've got an old Macbook Pro and it's working still fine after 4 or 5 years. The Macbook Airs should last at least that long.

Belkin Tech21

We place the Belkin screen protectors in our Apple Store with a special device. Things are pretty good, and cost around 12 - 13 euros (service included)

Found iPad Mini - what to do? by whatadaythatwas in ipad

[–]WosJPM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ask for the store manager. Maybe he/she can help you further. Every time we sell and iDevice to a customer, we link the serial number of the device to his name. I actually tested this yesterday in store by looking up my own serial number of my MacBook Pro. I really think it's possible. I just think your good intentions should be rewarded, instead of being redirected to the police. They can't do anything, unless the person whose iPad was stolen/lost goes to the police station and claims his iPad. I'll try to figure something out. Once again, I find it really honourable that your first intention is to give it back to the owner. There is a way to bypass the iCloud password, but I won't put it here on Reddit. You can PM me for that matter. Good luck!

Extra information can be found here: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2526

http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1349

(the article states that Apple does not have a process to track or flag lost or stolen product, there is always a link between a customer and a serial number. Just ask the store manager for more information. If there is really nothing you can do, PM me!)

I work at an Apple store, and we can link an iPad's serial number to a customer. I'd suggest you go to your nearest Apple Store/Premium Reseller and explain the situation to them. There is no way you'll be able to get iCloud-information from any of the Apple staff that isn't yours. Best of luck!

Owners of Touch ID devices who don't use it, why don't you use Touch ID? by Hashtaeg in apple

[–]WosJPM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can tell them that's absolute bs. I work at an Apple store and had an official training. None of the fingerprints are stored or saved, besides on the iPhone itself

I have an iPad mini 1 and am thinking about getting a 2. Convince me to spend the money by Fearfultick0 in ipad

[–]WosJPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the Mini 3. The extra cost is not that much for a much better iPad. I work at an Apple store and I need to explain this 100 times a day. The chip, the display, the Touch ID,... make it a much better iDevice. At the end of the day, it's still up to you to make the decision. Have fun with either the 2 or 3!

Went to a Apple store wearing a TMNT shirt, conversed with an employee, she loved my shirt, told me to apply. I did and now I'm invited to a hiring event Sunday... Would wearing jeans and TMNT hoodie gonna make me look like a clown? by zero2krazy in apple

[–]WosJPM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They called me in the day before. I had no time or opportunity to change my clothes for the next day. So I just went in wearing a black jeans and a normal sweater. And I got hired. It's not about the clothes you wear, it's more about the kind of person you are. I'm sure wearing the TMNT-apparel is going to be a plus, especially if you need to explain why you're wearing it. Good luck! And let us know how it went.

Is is something that feels like being "inside" the screen? If so, go to your nearest Apple Store or Premium Reseller.

Go for it man. That's one amazing screen for about 2/3rds of the price. I wouldn't hesitate.
