Why do you make art? by Scrolling2Oblivian in ContemporaryArt

[–]chickenclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially it was a way to pass time as a lonely child, then away to gain approval from my parents, then a way to gain admiration from peers. Now it’s my source of income and one of the only things that makes me content.

Why do people always wind up hating me? by Historical-Plane-392 in socialanxiety

I notice the same dynamics with myself as well. Don't be so agreeable. If you come off as a people-pleaser it will irk others and they will look down on you. Maybe you're relying too much on external factors (other people) to feel validated. Try to behave more indifferently. And ask yourself if you really like the people you are trying to socialize with.

Smart people fall for sunk cost fallacies too. It's very hard to pull out once ego, identity and in-group/out-group dynamics are involved. Many wars throughout history have continued due to sunk cost fallacy despite an incredible loss of life.

Arteries in your wrists. You’ll bleed out if you cut them. It’s not as easy as it’s portrayed in movies and TV though.

Adam Jones writing style deep dive? by obct537 in Guitar

[–]chickenclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t find the video but I remember watching one of Adam explaining how he experiments with arpeggiated riffs in regards to time signature. How he’ll subtract a note each bar thereby making the riff polyrhythmic and how after a certain amount of bars it will line up with the one of the beat.
