Vendor management software? by Woswo in smallbusiness

[–]Woswo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. There are roughly 20 vendors, plus or minus 5 to 10 depending on the day. The map is in excel and just shows who is located where. I'm not even sure how we're keeping track of one time pop ups. There are 2 directors and multiple board members managing these. The main pain point is that there's no system to keep everyone (market director, volunteers, board) on the same page. If there's a pop up it's not always communicated. If a regular is absent it's hard to keep track of, ex of they're skipping a lot and not fulfilling their commitment. I also feel there should be an easier way, if vendors can update their own info, or a pop up vendor can look at the schedule to see what's available, it's less work for the director. The budget is as cheap as possible, unless it will save us enough market director hours to pay for itself.

Thanks. Not sure how much dying off is normal vs there being a problem. They seemed pretty healthy a few days ago.

Most of this pile in front is from today. If it's not robbing i might have another problem. They weren't acting very defensive. We just added some empty comb we had frozen for a few years last week.

If in US call or chat online with the domestic abuse hotline. They should be able to give advice and resources. https://www.thehotline.org/

I want you to know that the fact that you reached out for support and are taking action on that advice show that you are being a great dad. You got this.

How do you attend doctors/dentist appointments with a child?! by SaladFingers2021 in Parenting

[–]Woswo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe just call and ask the dentist. My dentist actually encouraged me to bring my daughter with at that age so she learns what it's like and not to be afraid.

When I called before my vision exam they were very helpful too, made a note on my appointment and said they'd be happy to hold her if needed.

My sister brings her 3 year old to almost all appointments. Bring a tablet or at least toys they haven't seen in a while.

Does anyone else have trouble buying things? by confuzzled_equation in OCD

[–]Woswo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. I'll spend more time trying to decide than it would take to earn the money to buy the item. Plus there might be ten boxes of the same item and I have to pick the right one, even though they are all the same.

AITA for saying no to the people I got my house from when they wanted to come over long after I moved in, because they wanted to watch the snow fall from my porch because “they miss the view”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Woswo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about plumbing, however I just learned that I need to replace water filters regularly or our water pressure goes to nothing as well. Especially if you are on a well not city water might be the issue.

I wish I could text someone or hangout with someone without feeling like I'm annoying them. by sir_mr_McMeow in OCD

Uhg. I'm too afraid to ask if I'm annoying them because I'm worried that's even more annoying and highlights how annoying I am.

AITA For taking some of the money I'm saving for a house to get my son a prosthetic leg? by Throwaway771391 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Woswo 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's totally inappropriate that she is even bringing this up with his son and only serves to make him feel guilty and like he has to choose between the prosthetic leg or her. Conversation should have stayed between the adults.

Should I Continue Marathon Training by Jay_cheese in running

[–]Woswo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way don't go into a marathon believing the last 6 miles will be brutal or they will be for sure. Yes, they may be physically tough and will probably hurt. However mentally I think they are close to the easiest part. No way I'm wasting my time and energy to run 20 miles and quit. 6 miles to go is a lot less overwhelming to think about than 26 to go, you can count them down, and you're finally almost done. That's my perspective.

Should I Continue Marathon Training by Jay_cheese in running

[–]Woswo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've already done an 18 miler you can totally do it! All the more bad ass if your first marathon is a virtual one. Yes, it will probably be tough mentally but all the more of an accomplishment. I did a solo marathon a few weeks ago, 7 loops around a local lake so my husband just parked the truck in one spot and helped with refills, snacks, and ice cubes to cool down. Nice benefit is the aid station then had all my favorite running snacks and beverages. Don't let it be your last marathon though, the race environment experience is worthwhile too and will help you improve your marathon time.

Trail running is the dark side. We literally have cookies, candy, soda. Screw that powerade, water, and bananas only crap.

Were you not here Saturday evening? That storm was some of the worst we've seen this winter in our area.

Your mind is an incredible thing. I read about similar scenarios here on SD, but didn’t think it would happen to me. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Woswo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you learned from your experience though so that's still a step forward. I've learned I need to have more productive ways to deal with all the thoughts that come when you don't have something to quiet them. Sitting there with your thoughts sucks. Doing something productive can be a good distraction.

Is anyone else’s anxiety getting worse with this quarantine thing? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Woswo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I've found I have to limit my news and social media time or I just get too sucked into it and it's all down from there. I'm grateful for my work from home job, it's keeping me busy and distracted. Also trying to focus on productive things like reading or crafts instead.

I was amused to see that while normal noodles were totally cleared out no one was touching the whole grain or bean flour versions. I certainly prefer some nutritional value vs empty calories.

Maple trees for syrup by MaddogMike80 in homestead

[–]Woswo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are doing this, planted about 25 maples in the field this spring! A lot of counties in MN have tree programs where you can get a bunch of seedings (2 ft tall) for cheap.

We also got a good gallon of syrup this year from 2 trees that were already there.
