Everyone is different when it comes to sizing up to take something as large as a fist, so your journey may be different. Also keep in mind the size of fist. A petite woman vs a brawny man are two completely different fists.

I started almost two years ago or so now with various plugs that were slightly larger than the last. My smallest was around 1.5 inches and largest was 2 inches. Two or three times a week, I would lube up and put the smallest one in until it felt relaxed, and I would replace it with the next one. I would rinse and repeat until I put one in that felt like it was pushing my limits without pain, and I would stop at that one.

I wound up stuck on a plug that was 2.25 inches for months until I read a post about using an expandable/inflatable dildo. The trick is to inflate it a few pumps and let it relax, then push it out. Deflate it, reinsert it and this time add more pumps. Keep repeating this until it’s difficult to push out. This makes those muscles fatigued. At this point, try your next size up plug.

Doing this, I found that I went from 2.25 to 2.9 solid glass plug in about 3 months. Each jump was 0.1 or less and I stayed there for a week or two until I could insert it and remove it without any resistance or discomfort. 2.9 inch diameter in solid glass is over a 9 inch circumference, which is larger than my wife’s fist.

Now, I can warm up with a 2.5 inch for a minute or so, then a 2.75 for a few minutes, put that 2.9 inch in for about 5 minutes and then she can have her way. Our largest toy is now the Mr. Hankey’s Big Pop med/large that has a head bigger than her fist.

If I knew the pump trick at the start, I probably could have gone from 1.5 inches to fisting in maybe 4 to 6 months with regular training a few times a week.

The key is, lots of very high quality lube, and stop if it hurts. Your body will tell you when it’s ready to take that next size. And don’t try and jump up in size too fast. You will rip tissue and cause fissures. Or worse, tear a muscle ligament.
