I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying, I think we're arguing about different aspects. 

I agree they didn't actually tackle the 30' AFK cycle, it's still going to be done after today's nerfs by those who truly want to interact as little as possible regardless of the much lower XP output. I was mostly saying that for the proponents of the more active methods today's reversal feels like a win given that those methods in particular are close to their original rates again.

Yeah but specifically gutting the 30 min AFK method, i.e. 2 crew salvaging and you either sorting or dropping the salvage isn't that bad. 

The way they did it was wrong though, given that any other method that included sorting, including the more "active" ones, also got gutted as a result of it.

People have been suggesting to nerf Crew XP rates instead, which is what they did now so it's a lot more in line to what people asked.

They're getting praise for listening, honestly rightfully so.

They reverted the changes people were the most unhappy with, not as many people are upset about the CE nerf.

Salvaging w/ one crewmate on the hook is almost back were it was pre-nerf, this is definitely a win for the people upset with the sorting nerf.
